If you read only one general science book, it should probably be this one. It answers questions about how we know the universe is expanding, what was so special about Newton's apples, and what did people like Galileo and Hubble know and why and when did they find out.

Besides saying I really enjoyed and loved this book, there isn't much more I can say about it. There was more than one time when I had tears streaming down my face as I read. And forget about putting it down before it's over. Rachael Treasure has done an amazing job at describing the wildness and raw beauty of Tasmania and Australia. Her characters are also written beautifully. Even when you're frustrated with Kate, Nick, and Henry, you can't help but root for them and hope that things will work out for the best. I can not believe I have not read anything by her before, but I can tell you I will be hunting down the rest of her back list and putting her on all lists to come. I did not want this book to be over. I am confident that you will like it as much as I did.

Trans/notes/commentary by Allen Mandelbaum: Good notes, bilingual, inexpensive, great to carry, but very academic (more linguistically correct) but I think the least poetic (and this is a poem, and very inventive one) of the translations.

The world Alyson Noel creates is interesting and orginal. I LOVED the characters, and wasnt annoyed by them. By the time I was finished, I realized I cared for the characters and would think about them during the day. The plot was very good, and kept me guessing. I can`t say to much without giving something away so, just pick this book up(:

After reading this book, I read somewhere that it is 'science fiction'. The premise of the book has futuristic ideas but there is a big focus on relationships and so I hesitate on calling this your typical science fiction book. I liked the book. It was written well and the story was well thought out. I know that a book was written well if it incites sadness, emptyness, helplessness and eventually anger--the author did a good job in painting a picture for you without outright giving you every single detail of who, what, where, when. There are a lot of questions that arise and the author never really answers the huge question of HOW this could even occur but that isn't really the point of the book. I feel like the author's purpose was to show you how this life could be like. I didn't give it five stars because it was hard for me to relate to the quiet resignation of all of the characters in the book, I couldn't fully enjoy it in that way. And I wanted to have Miss Lucy to have a bigger part; this goes hand in hand with my previous sentence. But yes, overall I enjoyed the book...it was not one of those books where you can't put it down and but it does pull you in to the end.
