To me, the mark of a good story is one that so wholly and completely transports you, it feels as if you are a part of that story. From the beginning to the end, See made me feel as if I were not just an onlooker, but truly involved in this story of two womens' friendship.

Dante, Gabe, Roman, and Jeff were all foster brothers who in there teens lived with George and Ellen Clemons. They were all friends with Anna Pallino. Anna and Dante were dating and in love. One night Anna is assaulted and the 4 guys beat on the attacker and kill him. Anna's father is a police officer and she tells the boys to run and that she would handle it with her father. Twelve years later we find Dante coming back to town for the first time since that fateful night for George and Ellen 25th wedding anniversary. Right off the bat another murder occurs in the same alley that Anna was attacked in. There are many more murders before the book is over. This was a very good suspense story and Jaci kept you wondering until the end who did it. This is the first book in her Killer Series - which she clearly states is a non-erotic romantic suspense series. These are my favorite type series. I hope Gabe's story is up next so we can find out what he is really doing being a part of the Bertucci Mob family.

The Temperance Brennan on Bones on TV and the one Kathy Reichs wrote about are definitely not the same character-both interesting--but very different!

Is it politically correct to call a dead teen a corpsickle? In Generation Dead author Daniel Waters introduces concepts that surpass political corectness -- things like peer pressure, prejudice, and violence towards misunderstood minority groups. In this book the minority group is a group of teens who have been dead and have come back to life. The Generation Dead are called by some interesting (and funny) names such as "living impaired" and "differently biotic." Even though the concept is far-fetched the story does make you think about the way that we treat people or groups of people we may not know much about.

He reaches out to shake my hand like we are both adults and I am not a kid or student anymore, and that's when it hits me that I am on my own, which is scary because even though I'm sixteen I am only a freshman and that is too soon to get kicked out. Plus, I have no skills, and if you do not graduate high school and you have no skills then you are shit out of luck. So I decide that Principal Olmos is wrong about the hearing and even though he thinks it is a done deal I will make a plan. And the kind of plan I will make is a How-to-Change-Everyone's-Mind-About-Me plan since Principal Olmos is the only one who thinks I am a decent guy, but really, I am not so bad a person once you get to know me. I'm really torn about the four-star rating on this, as part of my wants to give it five, but I always round down when I'm in any doubt. I picked this up because I absolutely adored Fat Kid Rules the World, and my only letdown was in the recycled gimmick between them. Fat Kid's Troy spends a lot of time imagining headlines about himself, and Iggy spends a similar amount of time imagining the reactions of people when they realize how awesome Iggy really is. Honestly, that's the only reason for my downgrade. In all other respects, this is a gut punch picture of families, love, and who really has it worse. It touches on class differences but stays tight to Iggy's perspective, and you really do, after you get to know him, realize that Iggy's not such a bad kid after all.

If you live in Florida, lets say Ft. Lauderdale, don't read this book... especially when you're trying to pay the bills by working in a call center and you're aweful at telemarketing and you're roommate is weird and depressed and everyone around you is fake and plastic. That's my only warning. Otherwise, it's a great book.

This is a profoundly excellent book. And it made me feel so good about myself as an American! Not! Actually, it caused me to reflect on the fact that every morning of my entire childhood I read the "Today" section of the Baltimore Sun (comics, Dear Abby, Hints from Heloise, trend pieces, movie reviews, etc) (Jacob read the sports) and completely ignored not only the Times, which we usually received, but even the World/National news and Maryland news sections of the Sun, which are pretty much written at the level of the Weekly Reader. So, 1992, mayhem in the Balkans, 1994, Rwanda . . . I'm reading Calvin & Hobbes. Which is certainly fun, but, as the book points out, being clueless does not indemnify one against culpability. I'll have to think about that some more tomorrow when I immediately turn to the crossword puzzle in the NYT, ignoring reportage on every actual human event in the process.

A well written children's tale. The author does not put in a lot of work into designing the world, but everything has a good feel to it. The adults in the series are a bit dim, in all the ways required to move the plot along, but the book is a good read over all.

Excellent friends-to-lovers romance with a slightly supernatural theme. Hansen and Sam have been best friends since they found out they both have the same powers. Now they are adults and sharing a flat but Sam's powers seem to be out of control and their secret is out. This forces the two MC's to confront their feelings. This is a well written and easy to read story with very engaging characters and a seductive, slow-burn build-up to some very passionate sex scenes. The supernatural element is light, it almost reads like a contemporary. I would love to read more books in this setting and will definitely buy any new books this author releases. Recommended for just about anyone. Edit: Fabulous cover too!
