I like Tom Gunn, he's a local San Franciscan poet. If you want to read up on his work, this volume would be a good buy. I'm not sure if it's in here, but his poem The Man With the Night Sweats is touching as it is frightening.

We may come from different cultures and gene pools, but those things that truly make us human are very much the same.

I am reading this book with a dear friend. It has good sidebar questions, scriptures and various quotes that I have never read before. Not just standard church talk about the importance of fellowship, but real, thought provoking and challenging thoughts on why small groups.
