Let me preface this by saying that I sort of want to marry Jodi Picoult. I had never read any of her books until recently, because I had this stereotype of them being all girly and terrible. People, that is so not true! She has this way of talking about controversial issues without being all "Hey, look at me, I'm writing about something controversial, aren't I just so awesome?!" Her books are really fast reads because you don't want to ever put them down. I guess my favorite thing about her is the way she takes so many random characters and connects them together. When they are being introduced I get so confused and just wonder why the hell this person is important enough to talk about, but eventually it all makes sense. The premise of the book sucked me in immediately when I read about it and the book didn't let me down. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone!

A wonderful, heartfelt, honest, funny, sad, touching look at the author and her father's final five years together before his death. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an elderly parent, to help them understand their natural but conflicted feelings in dealing with the stress of caring for an aging parent. I would also recommend this book to those who may soon be the elderly parent themselves, to see how to grow old gracefully, how to cherish every day for the small joys in them. Life is precious, relationships are important, and death is a natural part of every life.

My stepmother who is a big Dr Laura fan and went to see her live in Hawaii as part of her and my Dad's honeymoon gave me this book. I find it odd that Dr Laura forgot to include such common occurrences as "trying to kill a mosquito with a chainsaw after your fifth Labatts".

Well I guess it was a retelling of BRave NEw Wrold, which I've never read. I really think I should now though. this was a very humourous take on the future but in many ways it hit a bit close to home and makes it a little scary. The imagination of these two writers is absolutely astounding. And the ending was just perfect. I kind of wish there was more but leaving the suspense was a great idea. I would recommend it. It had its moments that were very hard to follow since pretty much everything is a fabrication but I was able to keep track. I was also very amused to be reading it on my kindle....

I thought adding zombies (which I love) to Jane Austen (whom I hate) would make it bearable. It didn't. I think you have to love Austen to read even a parody of her work. The zombies couldn't even get me through this. Oh well.
