Petroneo Fernandes petroneo — I was made to read Catcher in the Rye back in eighth grade, and I remember hating the book. Every few chapters I would stop, look up at my mother, and go "This kid is so whiny! He should just shut up! He hates everyone and everything and he never does anything and then he complains about it!" As far as I can tell, teenagers have loved this book since it was written. I suppose for that, and because it was well written, I'll award it a two. A friend once told me that I should give it a second chance, read it now that I'm older. I may try one day-- but not soon.

Olga Manolova monagallery — I am still unsure how this book became a national best seller. Don't get me wrong, I loved it and devoured all 600+ pages of it in a few weeks (which is fast considering the legnth of my mornging commute). But, it's very heavy on the newspaper inside-baseball kind of stuff. That's why I loved it. I found myself getting all worked up about her passionate defenses of newspapers and freedom of the press but if you aren't really itnerested in newspapers or the hsitory she experienced from a front-row seat (sometimes from the driver's seat) it's going to be a slwoer read. It's still definetly worth reading -- the story of a woman in a man's world is fascianting and well-told and she doesn't hold back on the intimate and tragic parts of her life. For everyone who has a say in running a newspaper, even a student one(maybe especially a studet one), and everyone who works for a newspaper, especailly females, this is a must-read.

Hemendra Seth hseth — I'm sad to say that The Alchemist didn't live up to the hype for me; while it's a sweet story with a great message about following your dreams and listening to your heart, it was a bit too literal and straight-forward for me. I like a little more metaphor with my parables, you know? - a little bit more story over the author encouraging me not to give up in the face of obstacles. That's purely personal taste, and maybe I'm just a big curmudgeon, like the crystal merchant.

Jyotsna Tiwari jyotsnatis4e74 — Well I guess it was a retelling of BRave NEw Wrold, which I've never read. I really think I should now though. this was a very humourous take on the future but in many ways it hit a bit close to home and makes it a little scary. The imagination of these two writers is absolutely astounding. And the ending was just perfect. I kind of wish there was more but leaving the suspense was a great idea. I would recommend it. It had its moments that were very hard to follow since pretty much everything is a fabrication but I was able to keep track. I was also very amused to be reading it on my kindle....
