Yes, it's a kids book, but one of my all-time favorites. I picked this up for a friend's baby shower and couldn't resist adding it to goodreads. If you have any little nieces, nephews or cousins, I highly recommend this beautiful book.

Another funny book, intended as a real guide to Zombies. Some very interesting facts that can be applied to any other adventure around the world.

I know this book is on the "1001 Books to Read Before You Die" list, but for the life of me, I can't understand why. I found it meandering, lackluster in character development, very unclear at times, and just generally boring. The only reason I finished it was because it's on "The List". I do not recommend that anyone waste their time on it, but would be interested in the viewpoint of anyone who actually enjoyed it.

This book is essentially a retelling of the King Arthur tale, told in today's society with teenage characters. Ellie (the narrator) is the daughter of two Medievalist professors and is on a sabbatical with them. She is very irritated about having to uproot for a year. She meets a lot of other kids at her high school, including Will, Lance, and Jennifer. Along the way, she starts to realize that they, not to mention she, are not necessarily all they appear to be. In addition, dark forces seem to be gathering to replay a series of events that has gone on since the time of the original King Arthur. This book has a fun premise, but it could have been done better. What with all the hormonal fluff, it was considerably less than it might have been. In addition, there's a lot of language, mostly the misuse of the Lord's name, which does bother me. I also read it several times before the implications of some of the stuff finally hit me, and there is also the issue of "reincarnation" involved. Eventually I had rated this book higher, but after some reflection, I have come to realize that there are multitudes of books that are better, more wholesome, and worth reading. UPDATE (2015): Turns out there is one more thing that bothers me: Cabot's excessive love of the attribution phrase "wanted to know." Will wanted to know. Lance wanted to know. Jennifer wanted to know. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WANTS TO KNOW.

I personally got bored of Ben Elton's style half way through this book - I find that all of the books of his that I have read are very similar (in that he makes the same jokes, not that the story is the same). The story was quite good but I don't think it was good enough to get me through Elton's repetitiveness!

A story of mid-life, small-town desperation. I never really connected and never really cared. Maybe in a few more years I will be better able to relate.

Beautiful and Heartwarming Story! Life out on the range and within the big cities has many similarities when dealing with your sexual preference of being gay especially when you are first coming out. It’s a dog eat dog world and learning to protect one’s self is the key to survival. Figuring out, learning, and giving into your feelings is many trails within itself as finding someone who understands you is one in a million chances. This smooth and fast paced wonderful story is about a beautiful heartwarming, sweet, and hot romance that develops between Haven and Phillip as they experience true love, friendship, lies and deceit from family members, death, and overcoming hardships of everyday trials. I fell in love with both characters as their emotions came alive throughout the pages. Haven is a young cowboy who known he has always been different but was to shamed to be his true self because of the rejection he always received from his own father’s ridicule. However when he finds himself attracted to Phillip he decides to act upon his instincts. Phillip is an accountant, lost his job from the bad economy but finds refuge from life at his two friends Dakota and Wally’s Ranch. Being gay and out of the closet is nothing new to him but when he meets Haven he recognizes the attraction immediately. Though he always dated several guys he never got serious and always looked upon the dates as just a good time and nothing more. Eventually the loneliness crept up on him to the point he was jealous of the happiness all his other gay friends had found. He was ready for something more series and a relationship that would last for a life time and Haven was just the perfect one to change that. It was very nice to read about Dakota and Wally, characters from the first book in this series “A Shared Range”. The reminder of their personalities just made me fall in love with them all over again with Dakota being the most caring and helping neighbor anyone could ask for and Wally being the best care taker and animal lover on the range. The ending was very sweet and as I look back on the story there were several lessons or should I say great insight and advice one can learn from this story. Here is a quote I would like to share as an example. “Being gay isn’t about what you wear or how you act. It’s about who you love.”
