Muhittin Sayın xsayinx — I personally got bored of Ben Elton's style half way through this book - I find that all of the books of his that I have read are very similar (in that he makes the same jokes, not that the story is the same). The story was quite good but I don't think it was good enough to get me through Elton's repetitiveness!

I can't adequately describe the excitement as a 13-year-old in the summer of 1991 when the first official Star Wars chapter since 1983’s Return of the Jedi finally arrived. Among the first, quite possibly the best, and certainly the most memorable entry in the so-called “expanded universe”, Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire was everything Star Wars fans had been waiting for and more, and we still didn’t know we’d have to wait eight more years for the first of the long-rumored prequels. We got all the characters we knew and loved—Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, Lando—and met new characters with ties to the past, not only from the days of the Empire (whose factions still threaten the New Republic) but also hints of older times like the Clone Wars. After the finale of Episode VI (you know, those pesky serial titles of the original trilogy’s 4, 5, & 6), this was our Episode VII, and the “Zahn Trilogy” as it would be called will always be our Episodes 7, 8, & 9, even if we never get the movies. All you have to do is pick up a copy, put on a CD of the classic John Williams music, and you’ll be transported again to a Galaxy Far, Far Away....
