A clear read, summarises different philosophies quite succintly :) Good for philosophy students, or people seeking non-religious mottos. Reveals a lot about human nature understood from a completely human perspective, which of course is very biased and one-sided, seeing that the divine is commonly thought of as a distant omnipotent joker, or a self-delusion. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless they want some 'broad' reading.

Heartwrenching poetic writing from the viewpoint of a widower in Tel Aviv. Amazing even in translation.

This book was suggested to me by a customer. It had a lot of possibility, but never quite came together for me. Some interesting characters and parts were very well written. I was disappointed that I did not find out more about McClintock, the actual collector, and the owner of the book store.

As I was reading this, I was trying to look at it from the perspective of a young preteen or early teen. (,15 yrs). Ms. Faulkner did an amazing job on this book. This book was incredibly creepy while remaining CLEAN. No reference to poor language, sex scenes or drug/alcohol reference. Ms. Faulkner's book is a clear example that YA authors can have quality YA books without resorting to what I mentioned above targeted to our young readers!
This is such a fun book to read. The students love that the book builds in stages. They also love trying to guess why she swallowed that item, and what it will all turn out to be. I did a read aloud with my kindergarten class and they had so much fun trying to guess what was next. And they remember what stage was before and could repeat the stages. It was like a fun game to them.

So Stephanie Plum is a bail bondsman who is not particularly good at her job. Her life is kind of like an "I Love Lucy" episode but instead of a candy factory, think car bombs, house fires, and heads getting whacked off with a machete. If anything can go wrong it probably will. Stephanie is a likable character whose partner in crime/bailbonds is an ex-prostitute named Lula (her Ethel). The two of them get into all kinds of hijinx and frequetly need saving by either of Stephanie's love interests; the cop Morelli or the ex special-ops hunk Ranger. The book is a fun romp through Trenton's underbelly. Evanovich is definitely having fun herself with these books. Farting plays a key role! The mystery/crime is incidental, just a backdrop for another day in a the life of our heroine. Easy, breezy.

Good, really good. It was a bit slow in places but it, was quite an intriguing story.

I made it to about page 60-65 and decided that this wasn't worth any more of my time. It does have two mildly amusing poop situations...not quite poop jokes, but close.

A staple in my home growing up--my brother loved reading about the polar bear in the frigedar, while I loved... There's too many kids in this tub There's too many elbows to scrub I just washed a behind That I'm sure wasn't mine There's too many kids in this tub! A book that will always instill the importance of laughter!

Apart from presenting a plausible history of the madwoman in Jane Eyre, I don't see the literary significance of this novel. It is difficult to read, required me to backtrack many times, and in the end is simply uninteresting. On to something better :-)
