I personally felt that Jhumpa`s other book, "The Namesake" was a bit better, but this short story book is also very good.

the story was ok... but i you she could have packed the whole plot into 150 pages or some instead of going into such detail about the curtains. sorry khloe....

An amazing book showing how and why people do the "strange" things they do.

This book took some time for me to adjust to the "grim reaper" angle... but once I did, it was totally worth it. I remember towards the end (maybe I was hormonal) I could barely read through all the tears.

This is one of my favorite classics, though the ending is far different in the movie than in the book. Good storyline and none of that dreary "great expectations" misfortune attitude about it. A tiny bit below Les. Mis. the abridged version, but only just.

Much, much better than "Table For Five". Bordered on formulaic but missed it by that much which is a good thing. Enjoyed the format and as before Ms. Wiggs writes very well. Could have been a little shorter and it would have been a 4-star review. Overall, enjoyed it.

It's amazing to see into the minds of struggling readers and truely understand what they are feeling.

I just finished the series and by combining old Jerusalem and Lehi with Joseph Smith times really brought history to life. Excellent!

I read this on readprint.com. Frankly, in my love of dystopian literature, I'm not sure how I could have avoided this one for so long. It was clever, thought-provoking, even funny in moments. In the world of the future where God has been replaced by Ford, illness, ugliness and dirt have been conveniently removed, and aggression is a community-based scheduled event, people have to take a drug (soma) to feel and escape. My favorite moment is such a minor thing - the scent organ that played an "herbal capriccio" - classic. This book is highly recommended. I think everyone should read this book and 1984. And write a comparative paper. Go!
