I haven't even read this book and I can still say, with confidence, that it sucks fish guts off of a herpes-infected sailor's love spuds. If you need to know "the secret," you can just ask one of the millions of sexually unsatisfied women in their mid-forties who believe that anyone is even remotely interested in their sagging buttocks and have read this book. Or you could nail your eyeball to an aluminum frying pan over a hot burner, either way.

I'm really torn with this book. I loved the book and the story until the last chapter where I was left thinking that I had missed half a book! On further enquiring I was told to re-read (listen) to the first chapter and that it would make more sence - but no, still left me with this huge feeling that I've missed something big. I would definately recommend reading it if you want a quick read and you don't mind a story finishing without all the bits and pieces tied together, if your like me and have to have that great resolution at the end leave it. Despite what the cheesy title would have you believe, this book does not contain a bogus scheme to become an instant millionaire. Instead, it is a practical personal finance book tailored toward recent college graduates who are just entering the real world. Ramit does a great job instructing readers how to accomplish personal finance goals. Many other pieces of financial advice I've come across advise what to do but not how to do it. Ramit, however, provides the reader with dead-simple instructions complete with internet URLs so anyone can follow along. Unfortunately, Ramit's tongue-in-cheek jokes get annoying as the book progresses and I often found myself disliking his tone. Furthermore, while the book offers great advice, it is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, I found I was already doing nearly everything he suggested before reading the book. However, for people who have not yet taken time to optimize their finances or begun using the wealth of online financial tools, this book contains some good pieces of advice.

I think anyone who watches television should read this book. I was really appalled, disgusted and frustrated while I read it. It also dispelled a lot of my assumptions about reality tv. I never knew that reality tv hired writers, but that they have low pay and are non-union. I didn't know that most reality tv shows were created by the same 3 men. I was angry while reading this because I have never watched a full episode of the Bachelor or the Apprentice, or Jersey Shore, but I still know about some of the people who appear on these shows. I was angry because reality tv does show images that promote hatred and sexism, classism, and unrealistic attitudes about money and relationships. I must say that this book does have some funny bits and it does encourage people to get active in having a say against some of the things that happen on reality tv. I'll be writing a column about this book.

This book was tough for me. I really wanted to like it and it started off great. The authors style was that every time she introduced a character, she went into that character's whole back story and how they knew the protagonist. Unfortunately, she introduced a lot of characters so it was really slow going before getting to the actual mystery. The story only really got started in the last 50 pages or so. I might try another in the series just to see if there might be any improvement in writing style.

I just finished this book late last night and need to stew about before I wax eloquent on it's meaning. Because I think it was very nuanced and symbolic, I just haven't mulled it over enough to figure all that out yet. But it was a very interesting and gripping, especially at the end.
