Coelho managed to put a lot of thought-provoking material in a very slim book. This read is about a woman who fails at committing suicide and how she finds herself, her awareness, and her foundations while housed in a mental facility being used as an "experiment" of sorts. It's engrossing and endearing without being morbid considering the subject.

This book is absolutely a beautiful portrayal of the Greek Gods at their best. It is set in modern time London where 12 of the original gods live in a tiny, cramped townhouse, dirty and unkempt. Each of the originals have their power, albeit limited because they are getting older and although the world doesn't look up to them anymore, they are desperately needed to keep it turning. Aphrodite (a sex phone operator), Artemis (a dog walker), and Apollo (a TV psychic/medium), along with all the others must find a way to increase their power and regain themselves before time runs out, all with the help of a unwitting cleaner and her would-be boyfriend. This book is fabulous laugh-out-loud comic genius with a brave look at why we are the way we are as a human race. Highly recommended. Rated R for language and sexual themes.

Okay this book is really life changing, okay not the book the concept. I really felt different after reading it. I really don't think Rhonda truly gets it. She is stuck on being rich and living in a big house. But If you apply it with religion, with faith. All I can say is Wow! It just was like a bell going off for me. Saying Hey think positive! Dwell in the now and not the past. Don't let your mind wonder around. I honestly feel better about starting my day because I try to start it with a positive thought.

JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series has been really great so far. This book, however, was just a bit longer and more drawn out that I felt necessary to get the point across. I love reading about all of the brothers and Phury was no exception. It just seemed like a longer story than necessary. Not that this will keep me from reading on, mind you! Have finished through book 8 and am anxiously awaiting #9 to arrive on my doorstep any day now!

** spoiler alert ** I really liked Marian (aka Ninja Marian), couldn't quite stand the way Collins made Laura child-like after her stint of "dying" although I know it was in order for her to be "reborn" so she could eventually marry Hartright, and I liked Count Fosco in a I-love-to-hate-you sort of way until after the Postscript section. Fosco sort of lost his evilness about 50 or so pages after that part for me.
