I liked this book... It is neat for me to step into someone else's shoes... especially when the shoes I am "trying on" are so far from any reality that I would ever be a part of. I am sure there are better books about this topic out there, but I did enjoy it.

This is a good book if you like lots of adventure. It leaves you hanging so that you will want to read the next book Infidel. (I've read it too.) (And the next one Renegade...) They are all good books. I'm looking forward to getting the fourth book...

There is nothing better, to me, than a book that teaches me about a culture I know nothing about. This is one of those books. I was completely enraptured from beginning to end following the story of one Hmong girl in the United States and her, her family, and her culture's struggle with the American Medical system. Fascinating look at how misunderstandings and cultures can put peoples lives in danger. Non-fiction that reads like fiction (in that it's a good story from beginning to end).
