Just starting this. Although Clements writes "kids' books" I find them fun and his understanding of kids'sensibilities is quite astonishing. OK, finished this. Not as good as some of his other books (Frindle, for example) but still fun.

Great spin off series from Vampire Academy. Sydney is such a dynamic character as is Adrian, I am so glad we get to learn more about them! I definitely suggest reading the VA series first so you have the background of the Strigoi and Moroi.

This book is awesome because it could be used for different lessons. It could be used to teach children how to recognize rhyming words. It also mentions body parts because the words that rhyme are related to different parts of the body. Thus, it would be good to use to introduce children’s body parts. You could even go as far as creating a science lesson on colors around this book. Have your students experiment with mixing colors to see how many they could create. Overall, this book is really funny and your students will enjoy it.

It was an okay read, I guess. Bingo Palace was a lot better, though, I think. If the stories had been put in order by the time-line they happened on, it would have made a lot more sense. As is, I was a little lost through the entire book.

This book actually turned out to be a lot better than I thought. The language at first came across rather stilted, but as i became more accustomed to reading the odd phrases I got more hooked on the story. The three main characters Nils, Julia and Gerlof all had an integral part in the story, but for me the stand out character wasn't Nils, it was Gerlof. The old man saw things and probed in a natural way to make a slow burning book come full circle to an exciting ending and a mystery solved. I can see why Johan Theorin won the CWA Best First Crime Novel in 2009 and for a first novel it was an interesting and enthralling mystery set over two timelines. Anybody who likes a good mystery should read this book.

Some weren't that great, but I adored The Nightingale, The Djinn's Wife, The Pacific Mystery, Kin, Signal to Noise, Incarnation Day, Okanoggan Falls (this one made me cry), The Town on the Blighted Sea, and the Pacific Mystery. :D
