Summary: When a random act of kindness involves Katrina with Malcolm, a handsome teenage guardian angel intent on fulfilling her greatest wish, fame and fortune seem like the most obvious requests. But after two botched wishes, Malcolm knows Katrina is hiding something from him. How can she tell him the truth, when her heart's desire has become Malcolm himself? Review: I have this e-book in my cellphone for almost a year now. I've tried to read it before but I think the story is too slow. But, then after I've finished the series of books stored in my cell. I'd given it a chance, now the secret of this book is that I have too wait.. and then, as I'm reading I'm having a hard time putting it down, Oh, I wished there's another 'Malcolm' roaming around and waiting to be noticed. Well, the story is really simple but full of hopes. and I do loved it!

siempre la recomiendo.La novela me encanta, parece mentira que fuera tan joven cuando la escribió. Su vida y su muerte fueron muy románticas. Conozco algunos de sus dibujos de cuando estuvo desterrado en el Caucaso y son preciosos

Amazing. That is all. It's long, sweeping, epic, and completely heartbreaking, but one of the more powerful books I have read. I devoted a whole chapter of my thesis to it, if that is any indicator to how much I liked it! Follows a fictional Russian-Jewish family through the Nazi invasion/Holocaust/Stalinist period in Russia and the Ukraine. Written in the tradition of Tolstoy's War and Peace.

This book was a quick fun read. I normally don't like these kinds of chick lit novels, but this one was witty and fun. Definitely a guilty pleasure :)

Dear lord it took me forever to read this book. I respect that the author is doing something original, but damn, those pages were tough to wade through at times. The stories actually titled "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men" were great. The rest, I could do without. It should be noted that I started this immediately after reading another collection of short stories about men and puberty. Overload.

I've been working my way through this book off and on for the last six months. Most fun about it is Mackay's tone -- "Can you believe this crap?" Over and over, he slips in snide comments about how stupid the people he's discussing were. I did not expect a mid-1800s author to write like that. He begins the book with the stories of a few financial hysterias, including, briefly, Holland's tulip craze. Although I thought these would bore me, I found them very interesting, primarily because Mackay keeps to human stories rather than dry numbers. What's bogged me down are the following chapters, about alchemists, fortune tellers and magnetizers (where I'm currently stuck). It's not that he's not saying anything interesting, it's that he's written an exhaustive account of histories alchemists and magnetizers. It's a little too much to read straight through.

Michael Ian Black just has that that special sense of humor that people either 'get' or react poorly to. "My Custom Van" is the perfect example of that humor. Each concise, achingly humorous essay in his new book taps at a certain comedic funny bone. While this bone may not exist in us all, I am happy to say it is part of my skeletal frame. Short, punchy and often downright strange, Black tackles issues both inane and, well, more inane. But he does it with style. From Billy Joel at a dinner party to letters to a adolescent childhood sexual exploits, no out-of-bounds corners are cut, and the book is better for it. There is nothing about this book that screams "must read," but if you have enjoyed Black in any of his television offerings, this book will make for great toilet reading. My guess is Black would have it no other way.

You can find more reviews, along with this one on my blog Hope, Faith & Books I absolutely loved this book! I'm a huge fan of Simone Elkeles! It is such a great story about struggling with real life problems and falling in love! I really enjoyed Alex's story. I loved how Brittany (I like her name, lol) & Alex's love story began all because they got stuck being partners in chemistry. Ok, first off I wanna start with Alex. It sucked that he had to be in a gang to protect his family! I cant even begin to imagine having to do that. Now, Brittany. Omg! Despite Alex being such a jerk to her in the beginning I was always rooting for him to win her over (and for her to let him, lol). I seriously despised Colin! He was such a JERK (substitute word for the word I really wanna use, Lol!) to her and it seemed like all he wanted to do was get in her pants. I wish they would have broken up sooner than they actually did! Even though Alex getting with Brittany in the first place was based on a bet I was always hoping that his real feelings would surface! It made my heart melt when they got closer and let their true feelings for each other show! I also loved how protective Alex was of Brittany! I was absolutely devastated when Alex got shot and then they broke up! I was literally shouting NOOO!!! (Then I had a massive pouty face). I was amazed at the fact that Alex when through all the pain at the end to get jumped out of the gang just so he could do something good with his life (and for Brittany). I was so happy at the ending though when they got to be happy together again! :D

A Peter Decker series book that I believe focuses more on his daughter Cindy who follows in her father's footsteps by becoming a police officer. I enjoyed very much.
