Jodi's detail makes this a painful read. Many of her previous themes are evident in the novel, but the characters in their humanness captured my heart. The novel or I anyway needed some comic relief - and maybe that is what these characters did not have and therefore the dismal ending.

Right from the first sentence I was hooked. The depth of this book, in terms of Charlie's relationships - with her parents, and her issues/history with Sean meant that I couldn't put it down (and that's aside from wanting to know what on earth was going to happen next in the actual story). Charlie's put into very awkward situations, and at times is vulnerable; her development as a character is what keeps me so interested in this series overall. There was a lot to this book - extra detail that made it so much more meaningful to me. An insight as to why hospitals make me so uncomfortable (and why having control is so important) was valuable. All in all a very satisfying read.

If I could give this a half star rating, I would. Instead I'm forced to give this terrible excuse for a novel a half rating it didn't deserve. The characters are deplorable and from very early on in the novel I decided I simply didn't care who lived or who died. As a reader it is important for me to feel for the characters and I simply couldn't care. I didn't think it was possible for any one of Meyer's creations to be more ridiculously absurd when compared to "Renesmee" but I suppose that I was wrong; The Host was proof. Meyer has truly lived out her fifteen minutes of fame and has successfully closed the book on the case for her "one hit wonder" status. She should have gone out on a high note with Twilight.

I really really liked this book, but I have a hard time with all the ye's and ken's and nay's. I understand that the writers write that way to give you more of an idea that they are in old times, but it just bugs me. That is why I gave it 4 stars.

Holly Black'in tüm romanlarından keyif aldım.
