i really liked the apa...that would be an interesting (and exciting) experience ;) i really dont see why the could be together, or why the thought that they didnt deserve each other and i REALLY didnt get WHy they thought that they couldnt or shouldnt be together. iliked the tattoos and the Ghost-Macy thing.

I have to admit to some disapointment with this novel. It had wonderful writing as you would expect from William Gibson, and the cool technological features - but at it's core it was about fashion and marketing, and unconvincing love affairs. Wierdly empty.

This book was over my head - but I thought it would be worth reading since it was about a composer. I figured out when I was over half done struggling through the pages, that the composer is fictional, so I read the Epilogue and called it good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is a great mixture of fiction in a historically accurate setting. The author did a fantastic job of describing the west during this time and made me feel involved with the characters and events. I loved the "good guys" and hated the "bad guys" and felt a lot of suspense wondering how the story was going to unfold. The story focuses on Garnet, a girl coming from high society in New York City. She winds up in California a few years before the gold rush, meeting many interesting characters along the way. I wish the story would have continued... by the time it ended I was still fully engaged.

I thought I had read this book as a kid and wanted to revisit it. Well, either I never read it, or I have forgotten it completely. I did not enjoy it that much, though I did read the entire thing, Filled wiht hyperbole, a bit self-aggrandising, and boy does he use a lot of commas when he writies--even more than I do! Actually I think that stylistically it is old-fashioned, and it has not aged well. I would recommmend only for true theatre buffs, if theater is not a real passion of yours I would leave this one alone. It does not give enough sense of place and itme to make it worthwhile otherwise.

Not sure why it took me so long to purchase and read this book, but I am so upset with myself for waiting for so long. This book was so great. I can't say how many times I caught myself just laughing out loud. It was so interesting to be able to get a chance to experience Harry Potter all over again. Now I feel like I am ready to reread the whole series again and that is something that I haven't done since DH was released.
