Once again the Dream Park concept is transformed into an engrossing suspense tale by Niven and Barnes. This time the gamers are on the moon, and we have a political kidnapping/coup. Once the villains seize control of the game about midway through the book I found it difficult to put down. This tale is every bit as good as the original Dream Park.

I'm not sure if I liked this second part as much as the first part, but it was still astounding. It was more painful to read, not just because it covers the time spent at Auschwitz, but also because of the son/father relationship and his father's deterioration. My husband (yes, I forced strongly encouraged him to read these) was somewhat annoyed by the present-day framing of the memoir, but I found it fascinating and one of the main draws of the book. I highly recommend these.

A woman came in to the library asking if we had this book and we didn't! Which.....is honestly kind of a tragedy. We did however have the movie (which I haven't seen) which she was more then happy to take...which is probably also kind of a tragedy. This book is a classic and a must read.

To me, this was one of the more satisfying mysteries in Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series. The brief chapters economically develop the three or four subplots, and the author tantalizingly skips back and forth among them -- eventually intertwining them ingeniously for a surprisingly unpredictable conclusion. The psychopathological details were expertly handled, and the portrayal of the psychological experimentation was amazingly current and authentic. I'll read it again!
