This is one of the best books I ever read. For serious. You, dear reader, would probably like it too. Unless you have something against breaking the fourth wall. Or against short stories, as it's set up sort of more like a bunch of short stories than like your typical novel. But Calvino is just an incredible writer.

I'm afraid I didn't enjoy this as much as other Barbara Delinsky novels. It was mainly written in first-person POV from one of the most arrogant, self-assured main characters I've ever known, yet I still never felt like I got to know her properly. Barbara Delinsky has written some wonderful novels in third-person POV and I just don't think she can pull off first-person, it isn't in keeping with her style. And while the mystery was pretty interesting - although perhaps a bit too similar to the movie of Erin Brockovitch's life - the story didn't have the same saga and scandals of Delinsky's best novels. I think she tried to do something new with this book and strayed too far from her niche. I expect that those who are interested in Peyton Place and its history would enjoy this book more than I did, but I found the references a bit forced in places and the idea of Annie "conversing" with Grace was just too weird for me. I did want to keep reading to find out whether there was mercury poisoning, but I just didn't connect with the characters in this book. 6/10

This is the story of how Diego de la Vega became El Zorro, the legendary masked defender of justice. It was a fascinating and fun read and is sure to delight any fan of Zorro. Allende has fleshed out de la Vega's past, revealing just how Zorro gained his incredible skills while telling a darn good story at the same time. I think Johnston McCulley, the original creator of Zorro, would approve of Allende's story, plotted in the same dramatic manner as the old stories that appeared in the pulp magazines.

Adornettto definately did not disappoint with this read. Full of drama, manipulation, and lies, Hades proves that when it comes down to good vs. evil, good will always win no matter what. However it is hard to take that into account when Bethany, one of the main characters is captured by Jake thorn, one of the most devious and manipulative beings. He takes her into the depths of the earth, into a place called Hell where no other angel of heaven have gone before. It takes months before she has any hope of being rescued. During this time her feelings toward her one true love, Xavier are tested and it takes every amount of her strength not to succumb to Jake and his fake promises. A very powerful read that will test readers' faith and ultimately their loyalty towards God. I would recommend this read to anyone who likes a good romance and suspenseful novel.
