I like to call these novels "bridge" novels. They are the novels in a long series that wrap up some ideas previously suggested in earlier books and introduce new plot lines for forthcoming endeavours. That is what this book does as we see Jacen continue to evolve into a Sith Lord, Luke & Mara continue to suspect he is becoming a baddie, and young Ben Skywalker continue to follow his cousin orders. Han & Leia find themselves being hounded by both the Galactic Alliance and Corellian forces as they continue to bounce back and forth between sides. The newest plot lines involve Wedge Antilles' dismissal from the Corellian military while other planetary systems join their cause, and the discovery of a Sith meditation vehicle that Lumiya seems quite interested in owning. Draggy at parts, this book was a necessary read if I want to continue the series as a whole, and I have heard that the later books are very good.

Who comes up with the names for James Patterson's books? So far I have read this book and Violet's Are Blue. Neither name had anything to do with the subject matter of the book. There was nothing really special about this story....another insane loony and a wise ass cop trying to catch him. There is a twist in the book that actually caught me by surprise. That is what prompted me to give the book 3 stars instead of 2.

I dusted this one off a week ago, I knew I'd read it (3rd grade?) and knew that it did something for me, but I couldn't remember what it was about or why it seemed to be calling attention to itself from the dusty shelf in the attic I was scanning. well, I read it, and, well, there's a reason it's a classic... it's a lovely love story, a thriller, and a horizon expander all rolled into one. (and a light escape from an april blizzard for us fancy-free adult-children)

Knowles' story is OK, but for a much more compelling encounter with life at a boarding school I would opt for watching a rerun of Dead Poets Society.

Perhaps the most important book about American History available. Each section of the book has its merits. History from the 70s to present is very insightful for how the current state of affairs became the way it is. Does a great job arguing how low taxes on the rich and absurdly high military expenditures can be attributed to the United State's lack of progress compared to other industrialized countries. Everybody with an interest in history or with a desire to see a better future should read this book.
