I loved the twist and how Mercy matured and got clarity in this book... how they showed the relationship with Adam... more so her own ties into the Indian culture.... it seems that its gonna go into that direction a little bit? i don't mind...that was cool!!!

I love this series. I never thought I'd be on tenterhooks reading about naval battles, but Jack and Stephen are so likeable, and O'Brian writes so well that these books are accessible to anyone.

Someone else mentioned that this book would be better suited for a young-adult category, and I agree. I agree with many of the negative comments here - that the story is trite, the principles cliche, and the language simplistic and lacking in nuance and probably is the result of sloppy translation... but I don't really fault the book for that - the only real problem with this book is that it is being marketed to the wrong group. I think this book would be great for children -- not tiny children necessarily, but not adults. It might also be useful for an adult working with or taking care of children, because it has decent messages put in simple language, which could be useful. But I definitely did not enjoy or feel I got anything out of reading it at 25.

the Greek Mythology got on my nerves after half way through, because, simply- History is not my strong point and nor do i have any interest in it. I was slightly disappointed with it at times as it didnt turn out to be what i first expected. dont think il be wanting to read the next one in this series :/
