Valeria Valdés valeriavaldesb — What a disappointment. (I guess I should have read the reviews here on Goodreads before I got to the last chapter.) Grisham used this book to make a statement, but that's not why I read his books & I was left feeling very unsatisfied.

Stuart Kenny _tuart_enny — I first read Anne of Green Gables when I was in elementary school. Since then, I haven't read the books, though I wanted to. Finally this Christmas, I received the boxset, and immediately began re-reading. Now as a woman (though I still like to think of myself as a girl!), I enjoyed the book just as much. When I was a child, my imagination, my love for dramatic speaking and large words, were very akin to Anne's. It's pleasing to read about her life and realize several of the things she's done could very well have been done by me when I was younger, and the thoughts she had could very well have run through my head. I am just one of many who's been touched by these books, but how I'd have loved to reach out to Maud, to let her know just how much her books affected me. God bless you, Maud, for writing books that speak straight to my heart as if it they written for me individually...although they've touched others just the same. The magic in these beloved books is entirely too palpable.
