Read as part of my May Category Challenge. This book had me, squirming and squealing in places. It took me past some of my comfort zones but surprisingly it worked. I liked that Travis quickly figured out what made Roe tick and worked to give him that even though underneath it all he loved him, letting Roe get to that realization on his own. There were some moments when I thought Roe was not going to fight himself for what he wanted, but in the end love blindsided him anyway. Overall a very good read. I will definitely read more of Cullinan's work.

I'd actually give this one 3.5 stars. It was a nice change to read a book written by a male author and from a male's perspective. Personally, I would have liked to see an epilogue. I mean, what happened to everyone's parents? Aunt Mollie - definitely a million times better book than your last few picks!

A good, fast read. I am really enjoying Elizabeth Berg right now, and this is from an era my parents lived through, so extra interesting. The ending was terribly unsatisfying and didn't make sense, but up until then I thought it was pretty good.

My copy of "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold" was stolen from my apartment in Chicago along with all three-hundred of the books I had labored over three months earlier as an English Major. But his writing has something that is clearly missing from the current world. Even at my beloved magazine you feel like they are trying to match Gay's wordcount, but not his finesse. Anyway. Read this. It's really good.

I really LOVED this book. Just made me miss having a dog all over again. Poignantly captured the dog/human bond. Also, the main theme of the book was woven so beautifully. The fight to never give up and believe in yourself, similar to the mentality a race car driver must have to win a race. Highly recommmend this.
