Couldn't finish it. Hard to follow the 'plot' and the author made up a number of words which made it even more inscrutable. Not sure why it has such a high general rating from other readers.

As a teen, I ALWAYS skipped the preface and epilogues of books. As a grown-up, for some reason I don't skip them any longer...I suppose I've gained some patience. The epilogue of this story is nearly as good as the whole book. John Green should be a great inspiration for cruisers through high school, that having mediocre skills in math doesn't mean that can't love the idea of it...or have a romance for numbers even if you can't write proofs or complete theorems. The book as a satisfying and realistic character development through the series of events that happen in the story. I love the visual of road trip south, the feral hog hunt and Hollis' business. How did John come up with that one, huh? Did his own "Katherines" leave their sanitary products out for him to contemplate over??? Well, John's plenty clever any-hoo.

Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr is the second book in what could be called the Wicked Lovely series. Although reading Wicked Lovely first would give you more insight to the world, I believe both novels can stand alone. I have to admit that I didn’t like this book as well as I liked Wicked Lovely. While Wicked Lovely is what I would call a dark fantasy (or the more modern term urban fantasy), it wasn’t nearly as dark as Ink Exchange. This book dealt with many addictions, and the answers presented in the book were not clear cut. I guess it is a more accurate reflection of the world in that sense, but I have to admit a fondness for nice tidy endings in my fiction. After a slow start, the story of Leslie and her tattoo begins to pick up. Niall, a fairy sworn to the Summer Court, is assigned to protect Leslie, but he is unable to protect her from her choices that lead her into the grasp of the king of the Dark Court. This novel has a much more gritty feel than Wicked Lovely, but it does begin to appeal to you later in the book. While I don’t believe reading Ink Exchange will be necessary to understand Marr’s next book Fragile Eternity (due out 4/28/09) which will pick up where Wicked Lovely left off with Aislinn and Seth, I think it offers interesting insight in to the world of fairy courts that may be beneficial to the readers. Recommend this to fans of Wicked Lovely, dark fantasy, and urban fantasy. Cautions for sensitive readers: This book is definitely written for older teens. There is sex, drug additions, and a mention of the main character’s rape before the events of this book. There is also violence among the fairies.

Iloved this book! I loved the fact that Kat was willing to step up and go to the Hunger Games instead of her sister. She also had a rebel attitude that I can appreciate :) Peeta is quite underestimated in the beginning, but find out he is an incredible character ! I can't wait for the next book to come out!

It was definitely a treat to see Nell go back (in a way) to her Irish roots! The plot was well-constructed, though the pacing was a little slow, and the conclusion was satisfying. As with the previous books, what really shines is the interactions between Will and Nell, as they continue to dance around each other. I enjoyed this immensely, but if you're someone who gets frustrated with that sort of thing, take care! They also grow as individuals as well - the growth of Will, especially, over the course of the last few books as been a great to see, if not 100% believable. In this book, it's Nell's views of the world that get shaken a bit, and we see her mature and begin to rely on herself and her judgement more and more. The ending was especially gratifying and wonderful. A light, well-written read!
