So far, I'm really loving this book. My first concert was David Cassidy at the New Haven Arena with my best friend Leslie in 5th grade. Brings back the whole 70's milieu. I even have a season of the Partridge Family on DVD and I may just have to watch a few episodes as I read the book. Fun premise. Which I had thought of it! I just absolutely loved this book! Maybe it was partly my own 70's nostalgia, but I just loved the premise and the writing and definitely will check out Allison Pearson's first book.

I liked this companion story to "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" quite a bit. While I do not share all of Sheila Tubman's secret fears myself, the feeling of fear (and wishing that oneself would not be so afraid of so many things) was readily accessible, for me and surely for most readers. The events moved along at a nice, brisk pace, and I just enjoyed this book throughout. Well done.

Each person in Mibs family receives a unique magical power, or savvy, on their 13th birthday. but just before hers, her father is in a terrible accident and ends up in the hospital. It was a pretty good book, but all of the savvys ended up cause lots of problems and there didn't seem to be any good that came out of having them.

She had some great points. But somehow she failed to keep my attention. Maybe because she stayed on the the same topic for so long, idk. I didn't finish it, although I took some of her comments on the first scene to heart. :)

This is another page turner from Higgins Clark - I read it in two days! It reminded me of an Agatha Christie novel - many murders, many suspects, many motives.....you will be guessing who is really guilty until the final pages of the novel and will still be surprised by how is all is resolved (or is it?)!
