The one and only reason this didn't get 5 stars, is the total lack of color photos! I know there are many photography books that have many beautiful colored cloud pictures, but it would do so much to illustrate his text. For anyone who loves clouds though, this is surely worth owning.

Absolutely amazing. I wish I could attend Calvin forever just so I can always have the option of walking over and talking face to face with this extremely talented author, who also happens to be one of my profs. I only gave the book 4 stars because of the ending--really, Professor Schmidt? Really?

Another work of Biblically inspired works. Provides a neat perspective of Sarai (before she becomes Sarah). A good look at ancient Mesopotamian culture. Illustrates well the romance between Sarah and Abraham and how it grew from when they were Sarai and Abram into their old age and the miracle birth of their first child. Books of this sort make Biblical stories more personal and relatable.

Interesting read, but a bit repetitive. The science aspect of this story was quite clear from the start, but was repeated many times throughout which made it somewhat dry. The human aspect was compelling, and obviously heart-wrenching. To think that people had so little choice as to how their bodies were treated is appalling. It is always disturbing to think of how little regard is given to living beings in the name of science, and how callous scientists, Dr.s, and the law can be in gaining that information. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ½ Well, I can see why so many people enjoy this series. It was lots of fun. Totally predictable, but lots of fun. I'm hoping that the main series-long plot starts to develop a bit more depth as we go through the books though. If the whole series is as predicable as this then boredom might set in...not good. I did like Ward's writing though. She did seem to be making a real effort to interject 'street talk' for lack of a better term. It felt a bit forced at moments, but I still enjoyed the banter between characters. I did like that some time was spent commenting on the other warriors so that you got a bit of a tease for the future. The addition to their group at the end was cool. Overall, I found the book enjoyable and will continue to read the next books in the series.
