Let me first start off by saying that I do not know 30 Days of Night outside of the movies. However, I instantly became a fan of the movies and knew this was a series I would want to follow to get my vampire fix. And once I saw the new issue available on Net Galley, I was ecstatic to download it to my computer and fall in love with the comics just like I did with the movie. But to my surprise, after reading the comic (several times) I am left feeling underwhelmed and wondering what the heck is going on. I love this play... it's about two brothers, Lincoln and Booth and their relationship. It's so rich in metaphors. There is also a documentary about the first production of the play and its move to Broadway. So good!

Stolen from my dad's library, I discovered two things. 1). Joe DiMaggio was kind of a greedy bastard. 2). He really did love Marilyn Monroe. Of course, Marilyn Monroe was what initially drew my attention to this biography. The Marilyn chapters were my favorite. I really did think they loved each other, but it just didn't work out. I loved the fact he put roses on her grave every week until he died. Now that's devotion. That and his phenomenal baseball playing might just redeem him from his greediness and cold disregard of most people. It didn't make you hate DiMaggio, which could've been easier. I don't know if Marilyn and Joe were really going to get remarried when she died, but I'd like to believe it just because I like happy endings. I'd recommend if you were a sports buff, particularly baseball, but it's not for everybody.

I don't have a ton of things to say about this book. I liked it and it gave me some things to think about regarding the Hunger Games that I hadn't considered the first time I read them. I want to read them all again now!

This book freaking sucked. It was hypocritical and highly self-loathing of being Asian American. The protagonist is extremely unlikeable and though certain points scream of "coming to terms with growing up Asian American in America, my cultural identity crisis" most of it falls entirely flat and pointless. Avoid this waste of time at all costs, especially if you're Asian American.

This is definitely my kind of book, full of weird and wonderful people coming together to make an interesting mixture, though there is a serious side to it - the aftermath of WWII and its effect upon London and Guernsey and all those who survived, for better or for worse.
