My first true Jane Austen, and it was unforgettable! I love the entire setting from the relationships to the quaint English countryside. As always the heroine, Elizabeth, is strong, determined, and very headstrong! All of the relationships between her and her sister, and between her and Mr. Darcy are true and beautifully crafted. I love these books, especially with the adorable sketches! Jane Austen is truly an amazing author who's eloquent words keep impacting many throughout the decades.

Another book that moved me when I was younger. And I did have the privilege of visiting Corrie's house in 1994 and totally blown away by what they achieved. Unfortunately when you read many books you somewhat apply your current standards to the situation and when you actually see what the historical people experienced your mind cannot comprehend what they went through much less how. I know that it is an cliche, but Corrie was part of the Greatest Generation in my mind. Her sacrifice and honor would be found few and far between today.

My mom-in-law gave me this book, a collection of humorous/shocking anecdotes, and it's a fun read. It's an anecdote per very small page so excellent for diversion when you enjoy taking your time doing "business" (I do; my wife doesn't). Please, no wisecracks on how quickly I finished it with this tactic. ;-)

Due to my time constraints as a busy part-time working home-school mom, I skimmed this one. Still, this was a good book. I found it interesting. It went into quite a lot of detail about his personal and professional life. The picture and visuals were helpful. I thought the experiments for school students looked good. My son who usually hates text book reading enjoyed this one. It is NOT a science text book, but certainly could be used as one. We are studying a combination of cosmology and basic astronomy this year. The book fits in well for that kind of study. I had him skip some chapters that went into a bit much of the politics of the day. Overall an excellent home-school or unschool Science book for ages middle school through high school.
