I just enjoy everything Sarah Vowell does, from her books to her interviews on Colbert and the Daily Show, to This American Life. So it's no surprise I enjoyed this book. Her essays are smart, acerbic and just plain funny. I enjoy her insights and also love reading more about her Republican dad and not-so-identical twin sister. She's a proud patriot and that means being willing to say what's wrong with our country, as well as what's right. I'll read anything she has to write.

The only reason why this didn't get 5 stars is because... it's cute... and the dangerous man/hero of the story is more... cute than dangerous. He's got some gritty scenes, but all in all... he's like Pierce Brosnan as 007. Entertaining.... not really bad boy material. The mythology surrounding this story/series is really interesting, and woven quit well through out the plot. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who enjoys the more traditional romance category. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy reading the story- let's just say, if you like kickin yourself in the rear first thing in the AM with extra strong coffee done straight (as in black)... this would be... hot chocolate. With whipped cream AND marshmellows :)

Blue is for Nightmares is an intense, action-packed book with an exciting plot and loveable characters. This fiction-based book begins as we are introduced to the hero of the book, Stacey. Stacey is having dreams about her best friend and roommate Drea getting stalked and killed. Since this is not the first time Stacey has predicted someone’s death, she decides to take it seriously and do something about it this time. The humorous characters this intense book needs are Amber and PJ, the main character friends. Other important characters in this book are Chad and Donovan, they are important in the love life’s of Stacey and Drea and also in the plot of the book. Lastly another important character is Victoria the “mean girl” of the book. She is by far my least favorite character. This is one of my all time favorite books. The author uses humor clashing with the thrilling plot to make the book not too scary but still exciting. I loved the witchcraft references the author makes to make the book seem real. The author also includes a lot of dialogue, which provides everyone’s option to what is going on in the book. I would recommend this book to mostly girls. If you like reality mixed in with fantasy you should defiantly pick up this book. I cannot wait to read the rest of this exciting series.

This was a quick read. It was pretty good, a little dirty, but still made for a good story. I liked how naughty Anna was and enjoyed the fact that she really made her father's business partner work to keep his cool while her father was in the room and she was hidden under a desk. I really liked the ending of this one too. I don't know many fathers that wouldn't have completely freaked out about what he knew happened, so I enjoyed that all he requested was an explanation that weekend. Overall, not a bad read.
