Title: Women At Point Zero Author: Nawal El Saadawi By far, this was the best book that I was forced to read by my school. The protagonist, Firdaus, tells her story at the last minute before she has to die. The setting is in Egypt, where the woman's role in society was either a slave as a wife, or used as a prostitute. As you can see, neither was not a pleasant choice. Firdaus herself, chose to be a prostitute because in her point of view, this gave her the freedom to choose who she wanted to sleep with. Throughout the book, she is faced with ignorant men who all just want sex. Until the last man she's with takes his fate, and Firdaus would be the only person he would be with-- ever. This book had some awkward moments because of it's "sex"ness. But this book should be read by many students who want to experience the hardships of not being able to get much even with an education, especially those who take free education and others not so seriously.

One of the two men spent most of his a life justly imprisoned for murder in an asylum for the criminally insane, a victim of horrible delusions and hallucinations. Despite this handicap and because of the time it allowed him to closely read and catalog words and usages in documents spanning centuries, this American surgeon and Civil War veteran became the second most prolific volunteer contributor to the famous English dictionary. There is a wonderful underlying love of books, text, printing, and language in general among the author and the primary players in the story.

If I hadn't been reading this for book group, I probably would have stopped early on, but not because of any flaw in the book. The things that happen to people around Ram (and by extension, affect him) are occasionally so horrible that I wanted to cry. However, I am VERY glad that I kept reading, because the ending is worth it. (I almost got teary-eyed.) If you saw the movie, the only similarity is the fact that a poor, uneducated Indian boy goes on a game show and because of his experiences, he can answer all 12 questions. That's apparently it. So, forget the movie and go pick up the book. And then don't put it down!

Perfect! A billionaire and a man afraid of being used for his looks alone. Asa may have all the money in the world, but from the start you can tell that the one thing he wants more than anything is for someone to love him for who he is. Mario wants the same thing but being a product of"Arm Candy", his biggest fear is ending up the same way. It's easy to see how much both characters wNt each other and their love is written across the sky for all but themselves to see. It takes some time but their faith in the sincerity of each other grows and allows them to have what they've always wanted, true love. This book was an enjoying read from start to finish, and the sex scenes were always HOT!! even when they were sweet and touching. Another great one from Carol Lynne!

Really enjoyed this book. Read it on a lazy saturday afternoon. I like stories that explore areas of real life that I am clueless about. The writing was great and the story flowed really well. Suzie's change was gradual and I didn't even realize it was happening, I knew it would, but it was done well. Predictable, but in a good way.
