Totally fun. A great beach read. The scene with the unintended blackberry message had me laughing outloud . . . and watching myself when I click "reply."

This book is a history of love through life. The prose is clever, often funny or absurd, but always beautiful as only Gabriel Garcia Marquez can write. I highly recommend this book for all those who consider romance to be more than a commercial cliché.

Bova always writes well enough to keep you turning pages, but still, this was just OK.

A story of a German girl who steals books, living outside of Munich during Nazi Germany. The story is narrated by a very human and sympathetic Death who basically steals this book, written by the book thief, from the book thief. It's a very moving story and a gripping read.

I finally broke down and read this because I had nothing else to read and the library was closed. Meh.

I didn't see the movie, and I'm not sure if I want to do so. Someone Mark works with told him to tell me to read it. I wasn't disappointed, but I'm not sure how I felt. I liked it. Absolutely. The setting was very different, which I loved. I felt like some of the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, a good experience.

This is some of Robin Cook's early writing. It's not as well-developed as later books, but it is still a good, solid mystery. I especially liked reading it because I could see how Mr. Cook's writing evolved and improved over time. It was like seeing a bud before a flower blooms. Oh, and don't read this book if you're in the hospital or are having surgery very soon. You'll think about it at night as you peer into the shadows around your bed. This is the voice of experience talking. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this book eventhough all the characters were dysfunctional.
What an epic story - and we're talking Gone-with-the-Wind-length epic. Orringer is a terrific writer - you're swept up right away and grow to love the characters in this story. In 1937, Andras, a young Jewish student, leaves his home in Hungary to study architecture in Paris. The whole story takes years to unfold as he makes friends, falls in love, and deals with terrible struggles and hardships during WWII. To live through all that! Got quite choked up the last few chapters. Beautiful writing. So genuine and real.
