This is a great book for someone that is interested in logic, history, and philosophy. I loved it and read the whole thing (427 pages) in 2 weeks!

I just love these books. Georgie is so fun, the mysteries are a treat, and that Darcy O'Mara is a hunk. ;) My roommate asked me if the mysteries in this series are predictable, and I couldn't remember. I think they probably are a bit on the predictable side, but I enjoy the story so much that it really doesn't matter to me. I'm excited to read more now that I know there's already a fifth one out!

I always hesitate to recommend this book to others because I don't want them to judge me. That said, I recommend it anyway! This memoir tells some of the darkest heart-wrenching, and overall outrageous biographical stories I could imagine, but the writing is sharp and witty. Burroughs deftly turned his dysfunctional childhood into a hilarious, hopeful work of art.

One of my favorite books of all time! A carefree, almost poetic read that touches my inner Zen.

I really enjoyed this novel. I loved how it contained the story of Titanic and embodied it into this fascinating tale of love, history and others. The plot was very riveting. It drew the reader (me!) in immediately. I loved how Suzanne managed to include facts with fiction and spun it so it seemed positively awesome. Things like Telsa and other famous people were actually real (uhh, yea, I'm bad at history. Don't shoot me!) and so it was kind of like learning more about our American history while reading a book of fiction. The characters were wonderful. Very descriptive and I loved their personalities. I loved how Suzanne seemed to describe the sisters fully because you know, there are some authors out there who doesn't describe their characters well so throughout the entire book, you're trying to imagine a clear image of the characters. Suzanne did an awesome job in describing them. Jane, the perspective the book is written from, is a very interesting person. She loves Sherlock Homes which means she loves mysteries. I did too, when I was younger. It was always Encyclopedia Brown for me! :) She cares a lot about her family even though her older sister is only her half-sister, she still treats her with the same love and respect that she has for her other younger siblings. And I loved the whole flashback thing. It was like present back to childhood that progresses to the main "meat" of the story - Titanic and then it brings it back to the present. I usually don't like flashbacks but this was done in a very riveting and fulfilling way. So what's not to love? And the whole thing about mediums and spiritualism only added more interest throughout the entire novel. You really get to question whether or not ghosts and mediums are real or not. Overall, Distant Waves was utterly fascinating and I definitely wish to read more of Suzanne's stuff.

As suave as ever, even when being duped by SMERSH.

I think before i review the actual book, I must say I have very little respect for Sara Shepard. As an inspiring writer, I cannot understand how you can let a network botch not one but two of your books. I will not be watching the Lying Game tv series. The actual book wasn't bad, after finishing (or so I thought) the Pretty Little Liars series this seemed more like a rip-off of that too me. But it got a bit better as I continued to read the book. There wasn't that many plot twists, it was one of those books where I could pretty much guess where it was going. Not the best book I've ever read, but interesting enough so that I'll go on with the book series, even if I don't watch the TV series

i liked it in the beginning, but i think it fell apart towards the end. it kind of reminded me of A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan (i think it's by her?) but then i think the Goon Squad was written much better than this book. not that this was a bad book, it was really well written, and i really feel theneed to get on a plane and go visit london and paris again, but it just wasn't my type

Asimov's collection of essays reprinted from various publications touches on topics such as chemistry, physics, electronics and astronomy as well as the philosophy of humanity's usage and development of these sciences. I have to admit that I didn't read them all in their entirety, but rather started them and read until I got bored or my head hurt to much. I am not personally well-versed in any of these areas, and so learned quite a bit. However, the information is rather dated especially in electronics and other technology. This is mostly a collection for the die hard fan of Asimov, or some of his more scientifically educated fans. I'm pretty sure I thought it was science fiction when I picked it up, probably without even reading the back.
