A great book. It's good to know that people are always messed up and doubtful about the world regardless of which era they live in. While emotional at times, it's certainly not as depressing as some reviews I've heard, it can actually be pretty humorous at times. I'm recommending it to most of my friends and my sisters.

A good story for someone wanting to get a historical perspective on the changes that Afghanistan has gone through. As the plot weaves through multiple wars the characters react enough to show us they're real people. The ending felt terribly contrived though. It just doesn't add up; it looks like the author is hunting for something we can all universally hate to use an acceptable enemy. Overall it's not a bad book for its history, but nothing amazing for its story.

I thought that the idea of this book was good, but the author dragged the issue out for way too long. Cultural sensitivity is a very important issue, especially in medicine, but the book does not evoke much sympathy for cultural sensitivity. Some of the examples that the author uses fail to demonstrate how doctors could have better handled the situation. I thought that the book as a whole was critical, but lacked a coherent solution.

از مهم‌ترین ویژگی‌های سبکی نجدی، استفاده از امکانات جهان‌های زیرشمول عبارات اشاری است، بدین صورت که با عقب و جلو کردن زمان و مکان و گاهی ضمایر به ایجاد جهان‌های داستانی نو دست می‌زند. در داستان “سپرده به زمین”، در بخشی از داستان که ملیحه خطاب به طاهر می‌گوید که به بیرون از خانه سرکی بکشد، کلمه “بیرون” حواس طاهر را خاطره‌ای در گذشته می‌برد، اما این خاطره از زبان راوی به صورت سوم شخص بیان می‌شود. و با جمله‌ی ملیحه طاهر و راوی هر دو از فضای آن خاطره (عقب‌رفت) بیرون می‌آیند. این خاطره که یک جهان زیرشمول است، به ساخت بخشی از داستان می‌پردازد که شخصیت‌گستر و صحنه‌گستر است. درواقع، تغییر ضمیر اشاری و مکان روایی و همچنین زمان روایی با تغییر یک جهان به جهان دیگر رخ می‌دهد و روایت داستانی شکل می‌گیرد. http://fa.shahrgon.com/index.php?opti...
