Quick read - wanted to know what happened next so I had to just keep reading. A very different kind of love story. I want to see the movie now to see how they show things that in the book are just Bella's thoughts and feelings. I can see why so many hormonal young women just love this book! A fun read. I'll probably keep going with the series.

So I finished this book today, and decided to watch the movie because a friend of mine told me how great the movie was. WRONG! The book was very decent and deserves 3 1/2 stars. But the movie wasn't anything like the book. Added a war, changed the story...Anyway very decent book, but if you've seen the movie and are thinking of reading the book, you might be disappointed. Read the book.

From the creator of Detah Note, this manga didn't let me dissapointed. I can't say the graphics were the best i've ever seen since I have seen better, but the plot and the characters were well-developed and I get to know the world behind manga writers success, which were really interesting. I don't mind continue to read Bakuman and see if our male lead manage to publish his own manga, and fullfill the promise he made with Azuki, the girl he has a crush on since elementary school.

Might be the best one in the series. Noir films, intrigue, beautiful people with black hearts and secrets, old school language use that cracks me up every time, and sexy dead ghost with broad shoulders and whiskey flavored kisses. I think this book reminded me even a bit of Donna Andrews style of writing, with the good old village town full of funny people with funny hobbies. In some ways Penelope is a girl close to my heart with a fondness for books and a little boy full of mischief.

I thought this book was interesting at first when 9 year old Julia had to deal with a sullen uncaring mom. This novel turned out to be more of a coming of age/romance novel--not my type of book. I think this would be a good book for a high school girl.
