I’ve never been a fan of the ocean. Frankly, it terrifies me, and my rule of thumb for being in water has always been “If I can’t clearly see my toes touching the bottom, and if it is home to any living creatures - it’s not for me”. So yeah, bathtubs and swimming pools are the only bodies of water I inhabit. That being said, that is probably why this book scared me and may or may not have contributed to a new stomach ulcer. It was definitely a “can’t put it down” story and I read it in one sitting. This was not the typical Patterson story that keeps you guessing until the end. I like the way the “bad guy” is ousted right at the beginning. Still, there were twists, turns and tons of suspense. If you’re a James Patterson fan, then Sail is one you will definitely want in your collection.

I came across this book in the library after searching exhaustively for something to read. It was tucked into the book sale rack. What a find! The story is beautiful and set in a time period and community of which I knew nothing. Ford's writing brought the culture to life. I found myself entranced and unable to put it down. Though it is sad (bitterly so at times,) it does indeed have a sweet and hopeful message. Loved it!

EN WANNEER WORDT DE FEMINISTE IN U WAKKER???" nou, bij mij toen mijn jongste dochter zonet dit boek in mijn handen stopte!!! ik - totaal verbijsterd - FOR GIRLS ONLY (?????) - welke griezel heeft deze titel nu weer verzonnen! ... en dus stak ik eerst een half uur een preek af dat ik NIET akkoord was met dergelijke reeksen (gnuif) ... ... om vervolgens met m'n dochter 'kattentongen' te bakken :) met als hoofding !!!! (hou je vast) 'echte lekkernijen zoals de oma's van onze oma's ze al maakten... En zelfs de oma's van de oma's van onze oma's' :) NOU MOE!!!!! (euh, u wou toevallig ook een koekje? - sorry jongens, for girls only!)

This book was very funny and believe it or not insightful. I enjoyed seeing Carrie Fisher on the Today Show. This prompted me to find other interviews with her. Then I finally got the book. It is a very easy and quick read.

I'm not going to rate this one yet because I just started listening to it. So far it is pretty interesting but I wanted to note that it has some bad language and adult themes even though it is from the perspective of a dog. OK I know a lot of people have liked this book and while I felt it was well written I just couldn't get into it. I am not a dog person so that may have a large part to do with it and I also have no interest in auto racing which was in the book a lot. The subject matter was pretty depressing and I felt sad. I do think it was an interesting idea to write from the perspective of the dog but really telling a human story.

Any attempts to express the sadness of a love lost pales into mere babble in comparison to "Tonight I Can Write The Saddest Lines". A beautiful evocation of love, lust, despair and obession that quantifies a relationship. Indispensable. On a sidenote, I gave this volume to a girl I liked in lieu of the more traditional roses and chocolates one Valentine's Day. It worked (at least for awhile) - as we got together.

This was an amazing love story about 2 love-stressed teenagers, 1 thoroughly confused and the other unquestionably determined, but both completely in love with each other. Considering it was written in 1st person plus it being so well detailed, I felt like I was Zoey herself, being there, feeling everything (mental and physical). I'm probably younger than influenced, but I would definitely recommend this book to anyone from 13-19. In love. - Alee K.

Ceritanya berliku-liku dan tidak mudah ditebak. Membuat saya akhirnya menyerah (untuk menebak) dan mengikuti saja alur ceritanya. Ada banyak sekali pertanyaan untuk buku ini. Kenapa bisa begini? Kenapa bisa begitu? Tapi, sekali lagi, membuat saya menyerah untuk bertanya dan mencoba untuk menikmati saja bukunya. Karena memang setelah saya pikir-pikir, sepertinya cerita ini menggabungkan dunia nyata dan dunia (ehm...) metafisik (?).
