Never judge a book by its cover. I looked at this one and thought--dismissively--how "Little House on the Prairie. But this is a great story about a strong young woman who has lost both parents and lives with relatives. Her uncle sends a message that he is dying and wants her to inherit his homestead in Montana. Although she knows nothing about homesteading or farming, she courageously heads off the Montana frontier to give it a go. This story is on the edge of being one of those contrived "inspirational pioneer" novels, but the well researched and realistic details of prairie life flesh out the story. I enjoyed it thoroughly, although the sentimental factor becomes a bit too much for my taste at the end.

this book was amazing. the story of a man who defies society to find his true self is truly one of hope & freedom. this book taught me that you shouldn't conform to what everyone else believes is right. you should be happy to be allowed personal thought & freedom's that people like equality 7-2521 didn't have in his society. his society was cruel & imperfect, unlike what they wanted to put off. thought was not allowed. nothing was allowed. Anthem is one of the best books i've read, this is truly one of Ayn Rand's best works of literature.

Following the life of Henry V from his early yout as the eldest son of Henry of Lancaster to his father's rise as Henry IV to his crowning as Henry V. The battle of Agincourt is center of the plot. There are ficticious subplots to flesh out the subject. I enjoyed it but was left wanting more.

Nobody does it better than the Argentines: bringing to life academic meta-fiction in a cool 90 pages. This book is magnetic. I wasn't able to flip through it in public without yielding questions and intense interest. How appropriate that "The Invention of Morel" should attract potential readers so easily. Such is novella's theme: the precariousness of our solitude and our sociability. Logically, Adolfo Bioy Casares doesn't write this story alone. He has Jorge Luis Borges's educational, entertaining introduction to enhance your enthusiasm about adventure stories and strong plots. Probably one of the best Superman stories ever, which manages to be both "classic" in that the stories are all one-shots, and there are magic potions and strange creatures from nowhere, and also "modern" at the same time. Be forewarned: this is incredibly Grant Morrison, so if you like his writing, you'll like this, and if you don't, then you won't.
