This second in the series was SO much better than the first. I am definitely a lot more "into" the characters now. Things have started to come together and it's looking like it's going to be a great series!

I really enjoyed this book. My children aren't heading off to college soon, but this book is great for any parent who is trying to get perspective or a game plan on how to pick and plan for college. I would say there is as much advice in here about choosing a college as paying for it (and Zac shows they are related). Zac is impressive for a 21 year old and he knows his stuff. He's a Dave Ramsey fan who advocates no student loans and hard work to get through school. If you have any inkling of taking out loans to pay for school, this book will talk you out of it. My favorite chapters are where he debunks college rankings and shows how to save money during college (very creative ideas).

I absolutely adored this book. I'm normally not a big football fan but I enjoyed this just as much as I loved watching Friday Night Lights!!!! Jordan was a bucket full of awesome and the boys...I loved them all!!!!

This was the first book I read in this Linda Fairstein series. I fell in love with all the characters. I had to go back and read all the ones that came before it, and every time a new one comes out I devour it.

this diary showed the true feelings of a confused and a little bit rebellious teenager during Hitler's time. who would have thought that from a simple and average family will end up hiding in an office attic for almost 3 years? when we were teenagers, we are also puzzled by what is happening in our body or puberty is taking place during these stage. Anne is also like that. she was always surrounded by boys and girls alike who admire her beauty and personality. for me, Anne was your average teenager who says whatever she likes to say even though she can sometimes cause hurt especially to her parents. i can never imagine if I was in the same situation as the eight people in the Secret Annex who's hiding to be caught, living with one family, one dentist and getting along with them, doing everything together, fighting or having a good laugh during light moments. up to now, I'm also curious on who tipped the police about them. could it be one of the new office staff? ohhhh...i am so curious on his/her identity! i can see a lot of her attitude in myself like she loves history and mythology stuff. i was envious Anne indicated in her diary that she wants to be a writer or a journalist in the future. though Anne didn't survived, her diary is. i hope that wherever Anne is, she's happy now that her diary is published and we got to know what happened during these days. kudos to the people who help them and am going to pray for the eternal repose of their souls. these are the 2 excerpts from Anne's diary that showed that she's still optimistic that the war will end and will resume their own life again. The best remedy for those who are frightened, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere they can be alone, alone with the sky, nature and God. For then and only then can you feel that everything is as it should be and that God wants people to be happy amid nature's beauty and simplicity As long as this exists, and that should be forever, I know that there will be solace for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances. I firmly believe that nature can bring comfort to all who suffer.
