I picked this one up because I had just finished my previous book and because it was a dollar. It seemed to be getting lots of attention between the book and movie so I had to see what the big deal was. It is a crime thriller, but one that appeals to a more general audience than most I think. The characters are fairly complex and the story weaves together many elements of their interesting lives which was fun to read. The book makes you pay attention and won't remind you of details which I appreciated. It's the kind of book that says "hey I already told you this 100 pages ago. if you don't remember then go back dumb ass". It is written in a way that made a fairly unrealistic situation seem very plausible. The author, who passed away shortly after turning all three books in for editing (interesting), is a fan of suspense to the point of near annoyance. This also allowed me to finish the book in a few days while moving across the country so I guess the author was rather successful. Towards the end the story is rather gruesome which might detract the reader that is uncomfortable with brutality/violence. It is twisted in the way a Law and Order: SVU episode is: where it just keeps trying to outdo itself in absurd dysfunction. Which is awesome....for me at least. The movie simplified a pleasantly interwoven plot line. so read the damn book before you watch the movie.

hayess, udah dapet ni novel + udah baca juga , ahaiihih what should i say now? jujur sih pertama kali gw mah sukanya dari cover ama judulnya. why? 1. gw suka banget ama hal2 yang berbau MATAHARI (bukan brarti gw pemuja dewa ra itu loh ya) 2. i love GREY to-death gak tau yah pas baca kok kebetulan banget ceritanya si tokoh juga suka ama dua hal di atas, kalo gw pribasdi sih suka abu-abu karna mnurut gw abu2 itu warna yang hangat , tp gw juga stuju banget kalo "abu-abu itu gak memihak siapapun, gak hitam gak juga putih" hmm suka banget gimana cara pengarang mnceritakn tentang suatu tempat, gimana dia ngegambarin kota belanda itu dengan apiknya. buat plotnya gw rasa udh oke kak author :p kalo buat ceritanya sendiri sih mnurut gw rada kebnyakan yah kebetulannya, yang ga gw ngerti kenapa mereka harus sodaraan gitu. jujur aja, kalo ada di posisi Louise smua orang juga pasti bakalan bingung. tp gimanapun seharusnya dia bsa cepet bangkit dan ambil keputusan buat hidupnya, hidup kan pilihan :) yang gw syangkan sih cuma satu, akhir ceritanya yang mudah ditebak. *no offense* but overall, its a good novel :) for the last time. . . COVERNYA KEREEEN !!! hahaha

#4 Promises - Western Historical Romance series (erotica) The Reverend Brad Swanson (or so he SAYS) and Evie Washington Sarah McCarty continues to grow as a writer. #4 in her Promises series was more developed than the first three (which were good and enjoyable books). With more plot, there's still enough smokin' sex. This author sure knows how to jump start a book! This time, the good Reverend Brad Swanson (or IS he a reverend?) is standing reluctantly at the altar waiting for his bride to show up. No spoiler as to the reason he's been dragged into this marriage, but it's a GREAT story. :-) The first few chapters are highly entertaining, and kept me eagerly turning the pages till the book's end. The humorous dialogue between the men throughout the book on every subject under the sun continues. Evie, our heroine, insists on coloring outside society's lines, and was born about 100 years too early for a woman with her "notions" of what a woman should be able to do with her life. I like that she is smart, talented (as an artist), kind, and a likeable gal. Brad is a bit rough around the edges for a Man of God, but has a kind heart underneath it all. Nice romance (lots of sex), and like I said, alot more story than the prior 3 books.

Great fucking yarn. It goes through the whole process they used to do to rob trains. If this book was made into one of those heist movies, I'd totally go see it because it's awesome.

Definitely a well written and epic story, slow to start because of course he is creating an entire world for you and he has so many different characters and nations even to build up before he can bring them crashing down. The end is thrilling and definitely pays out, but ended so abruptly I was left thinking, "what, no cuddle after?" Definitely a good book if you go in for this genre and I would recommend the audio version as the narrator is fabulous.
