What is up with all the Austen/Pride and Prejudice spin offs? Did I miss something or did an army of them suddenly appear out of nowhere? So I decided to try one and after MUCH deliberation in the boolstore (to my friend Julia's dismay--I don't think that she will ever go to a bookstore with me again) I decided on this. I have to admit that it is pretty well done for what it is. Grange retained a bit of the Austen satire and it gives us just a taste of the "afterwords" (something all us hopeless romantics pine for after a good story is over). I think I will stick to just plain Austen from now on, but it was a fun adventure while it lasted.

I finished this book a few weeks ago and just thinking about it scares me. It is completely disgusting, grotesque at points and just overall uncomfortable. With that said, it's also kinda amazing. Homes brings you into the mind of the child-murderer and just when you think you understand his motivations, she completely separates you from the situation leaving you both horrified and amazed. Note: Do not read alone! Don't forget to hug your loved ones!
