While this wasn't my favorite Sarah Dessen. I didn't hate it. Many people had been telling me to read this book, so I did. I thought the subject was much heavier than the other novels I had read, and part of me hated reading about the subject matter (as to not include spoilers). It is a topic that should be known about and should be confronted. I thought it was a good book, and it kept my attention!

Pinkalicious has been a favorite of ours since the day we got. None of the other icous books have been big hits until this one! I was afraid to spend the money on this after being disappointed by some of the other ones. So I patiently waited for the library to get it and I wish I had just bought it. I think I enjoyed it just as my as my daughter did. If you have a little girl this is a book to add to her library!!

This is a story about a family of witches who live in the modern world, and a reluctant witch who learns of her powers as an adult. This story was well-written and a lot of fun! You won't find much in the way of deep thoughts, or anything to challenge your worldview here. It's just a fun story, but it is definitely a wonderful choice if you just want to escape. The amalgam of witch culture and modern technology culture is interesting, and I thought it was pretty well-done without being overpowering or too obvious. Having much of the dialogue take place in an online chat room was an interesting twist as well, and served to enhance the modern nature of a timeless plot. (Well, timeless...hackneyed...you choose - it's a classic boy-meets-girl with a fantastic twist.) When I say this is a feel-good story, I mean that, at various points, it made me very happy just to be reading it. It is unapologetically sentimental, but manages, in my view, to not be overly saccharine. I will certainly read the next book in the series. The kindle version is well-edited and free of noticeable grammatical errors and typos.
