This book for teens is not like your normal book. It seems more like a whole bunch of reports or articles that was bunched together in one place. It’s about three high school seniors who are involved in a school shooting. At the very beginning, you know something serious has happened in one of the schools in Harrison County, but you are left clueless not really knowing what events took place. The events that occur are slowly revealed through interviews with two students, Cameron and Carla, and a few reports written by the police and doctors. But these reports seem to have been written about a year after the incidents actually happened. Cameron was the first to be interviewed, giving all the information that he knew about the shooting at Madison High School involving his friend, Len. After the interview it was reported by newspapers that Len and Cameron were possibly in a group that was considered a cult, which was most likely the reason why the shooting happened at the school. Through the interviews, you find out what roles Cameron and Carla played in the school incident. By the end of the book you actually get a chance to see what goes through Len's mind by reading his diary. It shows how much bullying negatively affects an average high school student’s life, and why something like a shooting could happen. The book describes what is happening in schools all over the world, school shootings have become more common then ever before. Shooter describes just how students who are being bullied truly feel. It is a situation that can lead a victim to depression and even to become suicidal. I recommend this book because you get so sucked in to what you are reading. It becomes hard to even stop reading it and put the book down. Shooter is perfect for a reader who likes mystery and suspense and can wait to see what happens at the end of the book. This story challenges its readers to think about how they handle and react to difficult situations. Because of the book’s subject matter and structure, Shooter is suitable for an audience who are interested in the mental health profession. This book contains some elements of violence so it is better for a more mature reader.

I love Nancy Warren's books and I didn't want to stop reading this one. I hated when it ended. I wanted more. Why the 3? Because even though it was hilarious as all Nancy Warren's books are and even because the sex was Smokin' Hot, the main character was too stupid to live. She was so incredibly likable though. I was rooting for her the entire time. I wanted her and her flaws to get the gorgeous guy. So what if he was the one who put her in danger making me question his IQ as well. Still Jake made up for it by saving Cyn over and over and over again. They were a couple of people whose hearts were totally in the right place. They did stupid things, but they meant well. One thing that bothered me was the missed opportunities for tension and the easy acceptance of the end of past relationships. Cyn was engaged for six years then when she kicks her boyfriend out of her life, he goes without a fight then has a girlfriend immediately and it's okay, no questions asked. I think it bothered me because other than small anomalies, Cyn was completely relatable. She was turning thirty and realizing she hadn't been young yet. She lived in the home she grew up in and hadn't made it her own. She suddenly realized her job was boring the bejezus out of her. Who hasn't felt that? Who, once they'd realized all those things, wouldn't want to do a hot FBI agent? Exactly. So that's why I wanted more even though I didn't believe some of the story. It was well written, but not well told. It was still worth the time and effort to read it. I loved it, but I didn't. Would I read it again? Probably if I needed a little happy mindless diversion. It's a good book. It's a fun book. It's not the best Nancy Warren book I've ever read. I'm sure I'll gush over the next one.
