Definitely one of those books that felt like it ended too quickly for comfort. I miss the characters (so well sketched!) and the setting came across admirably, for someone who's never been to Wales (though I have seen NW England). I would read another Walton book in a heartbeat.

This book really made me angry while reading it. I couldn't imagine what the main character was going through and wanted to scream at her husband and say what the hell are you doing to your family!!! I did manage to finish the book but warn that you need to be ready for a rollacoaster of emotions when reading and at times felt a little farfetched. Althought I can imagine when it comes to divorce that all bets are off for some people and they can be willing to do almost anything.

This book is perfect in every word. The philosophies speak volumes with such simple yet sensual images. I think I'll be digesting and unpacking this book for years to come. P.S. I had no idea but Jason Mraz's "God Moves Through You" is all completely drawn from this book. I admired those lyrics, until I realized it all came from The Prophet. Still a good song, but the book is better.

It seems to be a good beginning look at the underpaid and low-wage class in America. While it wasn't the best executed novel, or best written, it did keep my attention and bring up good points

This book had been on my TBR shelf for a while and I had really been looking forward to it, but I was fairly disappointed. I had expected it to be somewhat Divinci Code-esque, with an adventure to find a lost book that held the teachings of Mary Magdalene and Jesus, who taught together as a married couple. Unfortunately the first few times I picked up the book I would read a chapter and fall asleep. Though there was a search, it this was not an adventure story, and it felt very preachy to me, though interestingly enough it was very much against the established church. I believe it is historical fiction, and is meant to cover a long line of ancestors of Mary Magdalene who protect these teachings, and though the concepts were interesting, I could have done with about half of the volume of the book.

This book says alot about war, real life and people... without saying much at all really. It's a great read, easy to get through and in my mind one of the best anti-war novels out there. Some dispute this point with me pointing out Catch-22, but I prefer O'Brien.
