okay so here is the low-down.. as far as i am concerned this book has earned praise. It is truly a magnificent story to behold. :D on the other hand it is a typical faery story and like any faery story there is conflict between the seelie and unseelie courts. however i see how some people have been picking on the idea that the courts are very similar in the book. that is true, however, the real conflict and problem isn't between them, which is why i can understand that they aren't too well defined from one another. the main conflict in fact lies between the fey of nature and dreams of mythical places (the ancient fey) and the dreams of technology and science (the iron fey), and we all know faery's weakness to iron which raises conflict. although this is a story built on the original ideas following the fey it also points to a lot of new ideas concerning faeryland (nevernever). i liked the idea of meghan being able to connect the faery world and the human world, finding similarities in the people and crowds that she meets in each. I understand that that gives it a bit of a teenage feel but to be honest it makes the story more real. people say that high school is a mini version of true society and i feel that that is demonstrated. you will probably feel like a lot of the ideas in the book are recycled, but i assure you that in no time you will come to respect the version that Kagawa inserts into her writing is more than you could think of. like any book with teen romance you will find some things clearly predictable. Like oh hes going to lie to his brothers, she'll take it offensive, they'll get through it because of her undying love and his wild attraction. well DUH!! lol either way, i have a feeling you won't be able to put it down. the wild animalistic feel of the fey and the crazy battle scenes will keep you on edge. You'll be rooting for the trio throughout the book so don't be afraid if it gets a little hectic. it'll all work out in the end :]] <3 merry reading to you

FLAWLESS picks up right where PRETTY LITTLE LIARS leaves off with Spencer, Aira, Emily, and Hanna are all trying to figure out who keeps sending them nasty messages that threaten to reveal some of their deepest secrets. They all feel guilty for the incident in seventh grade that they refer to as The Jenna Thing and now that Jenna and her step-brother Toby are back in town, the girls begin to suspect Toby is the mysterious "A". The story is still told in the same 4 story format, only merging together when the girls actually team up toward the end of the book to attempt to save Emily from a dangerous situation. Hanna's father comes to visit which opens up old wounds and cause her to start binging and purging again. Spencer decides, after much thought, to keep seeing Wren, her sister's ex-boyfriend. Emily still struggles with feelings she is having for Maya, the girl that moved into Alison's old house and Aria discovers that her father is continuing to see the girl she caught him with before they left for Iceland. All four girls feel their lives are spiraling out of control, but none feel they can trust the other for fear their darkest secret, the ones that only Ali knew, would come out. Even though we can eliminate one possible suspect at the end of this book, we still don't know who "A" is or who killed Alison. The girls are in worse shape than they were in PRETTY LITTLE LIARS which leads the reader to wonder just how much more they can take. FLAWLESS is just as suspenseful as PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. Once you start the book you need to be sure you have time to read because you won't want to put the book down. PERFECT, the third book in this series is already out and promises to be just as thrilling. UNBELIEVABLE, the fourth book comes out in March of 2008.

Excellent review of the history of oil from the beginning of industrialization to the Gulf War. Shorter on the really nasty details than I would have liked, but very informative.

This one I'll always be reading on and off; enjoy it every time I pick it up but just can't read it through and through!

I found this to be poorly written with too many characters added too early and their respective plots jumping around too much. I found it very distracting and difficult to read which is a shame because there were some wonderful narratives in places.

When I was thirteen, I thought this was the Best Thing Ever. I thought Ginsberg was some amazing Beat prophet, and Drooker's urban arts was just so damn cool. My enthusiasm for both has calmed down over the years, but this is still a pretty nifty book with a nice sampling of Ginsberg's poetry.

"God exists. And he's an American." Do other things like this exist? The Watchmen is better than most novels I've read. The intertextual stuff comes off without a hitch. This comic book is literature.

You know, this book was recommended to me by someone else who LOVED it. I was so bored by it, I could not even finish reading it, which is highly unusual for me. I felt like the book was trying to hard to have deeper meaning about controlling governments and dictators. The play is way better than the book.

An amazing study for its time, yet it holds true today and may hold true for decades to come.
