I don't know where to start...maybe OMG will do for now! I really loved Incarnate. Such a fresh and exciting debut that's sure to knocks your socks off! Meadows writing is so unique. The detail is fascinating and it really helped set in stone the world Ana is from. The romance, world building and characters are to die for and I just couldn't get enough. The world of Range and Heart is so beautiful that I couldn't help but to fall in love with it, just as Ana does. Ana is a tough cookie, although it seems as if she's easily knocked down, she's not afraid to get back up. She has a passion for learning and figuring out why she's the only newsoul and how she replaced another soul. As she ventures to Heart, the main city, she meets the young and good looking Sam who makes her feel worthy of friendship, love, and life. Finally...a book that has a slow paced , realistic romance that buds from a strong friendship. I absolutely loved how Meadows brings Sam and Ana together. They stuck it out together and I have huge hopes for them in future books!! I've heard some folks were hoping for more out of the characters and the world, like what time period it was. I definitely see where they are coming from, but in Range years are not consecutive numbers, like 2012 and so on. There are years for specific things, such as The Year of the Songs. Like I *might* have mentioned before, Incarnate is so unique and exciting. It has quickly made its way to the top of my favorites and I can't wait to hear more from Jodi Meadows as well, a very talented writer!! Review based on ARC

This book was fun, but it was more useful as history than humour, which was what I was looking for so why am I complaining... Where was I? Oh yes! Now I know the various royal dynasties of my adopted country, as well as what a whig and a tory is (well, of course I knew what the latter was, mores the pity), and that Wat Tyler and Jethro Tull are not merely bands. This is a very good book for what I was looking for - an introduction to English history for those not in the know. It's not actually for foreigners such as myself, but for Brits who couldn't be arsed paying attention in history class in school, which he points out a few times, which I thought was sweet. He also appeals to younger readers to remind their history teachers of various rude but historically factual incidents that did happen down through the ages, with gave me a certain immature thrill. I hope some smartarses took him up it. I also had a giggle when he mentioned Our Island Nation (briefly reviewed elsewhere by me!) in not complimentary terms. I gave it the four stars instead of the five since most of the humour in it is of a predictable, small smile but not laugh out loud kind, but there were a few exceptions. There was a bit about the various holy embroideried slogans warriors used to wear on thier tunics that had me literally crying laughing on the tube, which was embarrassing but undeniably fun. I like this guy, he's sound. I might read more of his stuff.

First I'd like to say that it was a very enjoyable read, but when I think of it, I feel like it was more of a 3-star read. Then I think again and realize how good it actually is. I absolutely love Jodi Picoult's writing style. The characters and their personalities are just so perfect. The best thing about this book is the shifting perspectives. It gave me a good idea of what Asperger's is like. I especially admired Jacob's character. I like the fact that the author shows us (in detail) what Jacob's life was like before Jess died; that way the reader doesn't feel rushed into the plot. The only thing I don't like about it is the ending. It's unpredictable, but isn't shocking or notable. It's simple and sweet, but ambiguous at the same time and left me sitting there wondering what really happened. I would have given this book 3 stars if I didn't actually enjoy it. Well, up until the end at least. The ending just made me feel like I put down a book I haven't exactly finished yet. If someone ever asks me what the book's about, and how it ends, I'm not so sure I'll know what to say. It pretty much tells you to believe whatever ending of the story you like. I'm not so sure I can do that. 4 stars because I really needed a nice, long book that I can pick up when the going got tough. Oh, and I hated Rich.
