The Friendship Test is a little longer than the average chick-lit novel and there is a little more depth to the book. About four college friends and their lives 15 years after college, Noble writes interesting female characters and the men surrounding them. There are a few too many issues and it does go on a little too long for this ADD reader...but it's a quick read, even at 400+ pages. Great for a plane, a beach or a pool!

Them Cornhuskers oughta stuck to huskin' corn, cuz they shore ain't no match for Jack Reacher! He can outthink and outfight and just plain outCOOL everyone who tangles with him. This one was very satisfying. It was reminiscent of the older Reacher novels---totally unbelievable and all the more fun because of it. Jack gets to spout off a lot of great quips in this one, too. Wouldn't we all love to be able to think of those perfect comebacks in every stressful encounter? This story will make you want to avoid Nebraska for at least the next few lifetimes, unless you like your landscapes FLAT and featureless.

(bezieht sich auf die 7. Auflage) Komm zum Punkt verdammt! Nachdem ich mich jetzt einen Monat mit und auf dem Trautwein herumschlagen durfte, geht er mir gehörig auf den Sack. Zwar ist der Inhalt verständlich und die vielen angeführten Beispiele aus dem (u.a. klinischen) Alltag tragen viel zur Veranschaulichung des jeweiligen Themas bei, jedoch auf Kosten der Übersichtlichkeit UND meiner Zeit, die (oh bemitleidet mich) extrem begrenzt ist. Die Autoren bemühen sich dermaßen um geschickte Formulierungen, dass man Sätze teilweise dreimal lesen muss, um den Sachverhalt zu verstehen und nach 5 gelesenen Seiten etwa 10 Stichpunkte auf dem Zettel notiert hat. Meine Güte, das ist ein wissenschaftliches Buch, kein Roman. P.S. : Wenn man schon schöne Sprache schreiben möchte, sollte man doch wissen, dass mit der Aussage "die Werte werden vergleicht" irgendetwas nicht ganz korrekt ist. Korrekturberechnung der Buchstabenreihenfolge? ich entschuldige mich für diesen Ausbruch, aber....--- aaaarrrgh! >:(

The topic of this book was very sad. It was the 70's and no one had ever heard of domestic violence or cared about it. A woman and her baby ran from her husband to keep him from killing her. The story revolves around the people she meets in the town she comes to 500 miles from home and the reporter who wrote about it. It broke my heart reading about it but it was an excellent story.
