I'd give it 3.5 if that was an option. A pretty fun read, but ultimately a little too floopy-doo for me. Lots of slightly magical thins occur in many of the stories, and I like things ultra-realistic and kind of mundane, to be honest. Also, my husband is in love with Miranda July and bought this book (in hardcover!) as soon as it was available. He also watched the Blonde Redhead video in which she does a bunch of odd, tall, frail poses...with the sound off! I can't help but be charmed by that, hence the half-star mark-up.

Wow, wow, wow. Amazing, beautiful book. I am sitting here in awe after finishing. I agree with my friend, Heather, who said the 2 sisters in this book are "truly full of grace". Perfect description. And I agree with my sis, Julie, who said she likes to read it every couple years. I will need to do that too. I will say though that it was a little hard for me to read. It just breaks my heart to read about what people have gone through, so it's hard. But it was so worth it. Wow.

REALLY??? THAT's how it ends??? >.< Not completely predictable and all that... not to mention improbable. If she really was (SPOILER ALEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERT) a mythical creature, too, AND a biologist/doctor, how come she NEVER ONCE looked/had someone look at her own blood cells??? O.o Because the author emphasizes how different dragon's blood cells are from humans'... I'm pretty sure she should have known she was different, even if the beast was tightly locked up inside her. Oh, and the freaking KING of dragons couldn't SMELL that she wasn't freaking human??? Total FAAAAAAAAAIL!!! >.> At least the steamy parts were super steamy. I'm keeping the book just because of them. Yup, I'm a perv like that, I admit it. 3 1/2 stars for the steamy parts, not the holey plot.

She must sacrifice all that is dear to her in order to prevent the slaughter of the Abnegation at the hands of her fellow Dauntless, who are trapped in a simulation they can't control or escape. Tris kicks some serious ass. Reminiscent of Katniss from the Hunger Games.
