This was a great book. What an amazing main character Lisbeth Salander is. I was skeptical that a man would be able to write about violence towards women without bias, but Larsson did a very good job. Good story.

** spoiler alert ** I already guessed how Jessica would betray Elizabeth by simply reading the book jacket, but wow! I could never have imagined that the Sweet Valley twins would turn out the way they did. I remembered reading the books when i was younger, and what makes it even sweeter is that in Sweet Valley Confidential they are my age (27) so it was great to see what these 20-somethings were up to. Honestly, I didn't really find the style of writing to my liking. However, I guess since I was such a fan back when I was younger I was a bit more lenient in judging the book. The storyline was great though and I think many people can relate to it. That was actually a problem of mine in reading the book. I often find myself empathizing with the characters in books, movies, etc. and reading about the pain and anger Elizabeth went through somewhat reminded me of a somewhat similar time (minus the backstabbing of a female) in my life. Definitely needed a break from reading it every now and then!

College Girl's Other Mother at Rants & Raves was kind enough to share her thoughts with me. I have a book called Style Eyes that has the most amazing eye makeup in it. I love it....but of course it has been snatched by several. Currently Other Mother has it. But she did write me about it...and you. Here is what she found out! This weekend my niece Munchie and I were getting ready to take her graduation photos. She has made her invitation style and wants to add photos on the inside to show how she has grown through the years. She has picked her young and middle photos and has asked that soon we go take some "now" photos for her to add to the invitations. I am so proud of her and want to help her in any way I can, so this weekend we played with styles of eye makeup to see what she wanted to do. We were lucky enough to be able to borrow a great book from our friend Lynette @ Crazed Mind. Style Eyes by Taylor Chang-Babaian not only has beautiful photos of perfect eye makeup but a breakdown of how you can gets these looks for yourself. With the step by step instructions it was truly easy to accomplish model perfect makeup on Munchie. This book was so much fun and it even has a beauty school in the front of it to tell you how to properly care for your skin and eyes, how to fix fine lines and dark circles, even how to prevent eye infections. There is a lot of wonderful info on different types of concealers, how to shape your brows even how the way you put your eyeliner on can change the shape of your eyes. We had so much fun trying some of the different looks. We went for some of the more dramatic looks because they aren't something you could wear everyday where we live. What fun! Munchie picked out her look for the pictures and it was great because none of the looks took very long to do. If you just want to have some fun with your makeup or you have a daughter coming into the makeup age I would highly recommend this book. With all of the information on care and cleanup of the eye area and safety tips to prevent infections as well as all the different step by step instructions for eye looks this would be a great teaching aide.

This book is pure brilliance. I read it in one sitting... I COULD NOT stop reading it. Very existentialisty. Just awesome, when I closed the book I had a huge smile on my face, not because it was particularly happy (Though it wasnt sad), it was just SO good. Hella recommend.

Sanırım karakter gelişimini daha fazla takdir ettim ve daha sonra kitap yazılmadığı için ilk kez kaçırdığım küçük şeyler (amanda wagner! lena bir iş !!) ve katliamın lena'yı dışarıda nasıl tuttuğunu sevdim ve içerisi sara ve jeff'in bu destansı aşk hikayesiydi. jefferey'den bile hoşlanmıyorum, ama onu burada garip bir şekilde sevdim. garip bir şekilde, syllacauga'daki sara / jefferey burada lena / ethan hikayesine gerçekten paralellik gösteriyor ve bu çok mantıklı. Gerçekten takdir ediyorum. neden sevdiğimiz insanları sevmek için çekildiğimiz ve neden kaldığımız sorusu ve bu kitap pek çok düzeyde bu soru ile çalışıyor. kavanozun aslında orada olmadığı gerçeği hakkında hala kafam karışmıştı. diğer çocuk kim? (sonny değil, diğeri.) ve jeff'in daha sonraki kitaplarda bulduktan sonra bu ipliği almaması ve bir şey yapması beni üzüyor.
