I read this when I was going through my "Clueless" faze.

Slowly working my way through the series again. Taking the time to enjoy it as opposed to ripping through all of them to find out what happens next. This introduced Alcide and the Weres. For me, this was when I started to really dislike Bill. And fall in vampy lurve with Eric. Not to run off on an Eric tangent, but in this book you can really see his humor and true affection for Sookie and how she reacts to the multitude of predicaments she finds herself in.

DO NOT read the back of the book - it gives away something that happens very early (like page 20) that's better left as surprise. Enjoy!

I enjoyed reading this book, and this is one of those throwaway reads that I tend not to read. I kept asking myself, why do I like this book so much aside from the fact that I have a fantasy of moving to Garrison, NY one day? The reason was two-fold: it reminded me of the good times I spent at the Brendan Behan Pub and, most importantly, I loved the dialogue. There's always good banter in a pub filled with a bunch of smart asses, and Guinan's has/had a bunch of them as did the Behan.

Hilariously paranoid. If you play D&D, you need to read this just for the cheese factor.

A brilliant, witty, insightful book on the nature and causes of depression, written in the early 17th century. Very thorough. Dr. Johnson used to read this regularly. It's great in small doses. Helpful if you know Latin. Burton peppers his considerations with a generous amount of classical quotes. This makes for a little disjointed reading if you, like me, don't know Latin.

The last book of Agatha Christie's hero, Hercule Poirot. Conclude Poirot's adventures very well. I was burst into tear when he died, he really was one of my favorite character of all time.
