Alexandra Faia alexandraf0566 — 1/3 excellent, 1/3 good, 1/3 muddy It took forever to read this, not because it wasn't good, but because it is impossible to read in small bites - you have to dedicate at least half an hour at a time to get anywhere. I think the best parts of this book are the scenes of the city, where Joyce guides you around, often highlighting small vignettes as he goes. The carriage ride to, and the scene at, the funeral near the beginning are good examples of this technique. If you are not really motivated to read this, you are going to have trouble - it's certainly one of the most difficult things I've ever read. Am I happy I read it? Given the immense amount of time invested and the corresponding rate of pleasure the book produced, no. But the good parts were really really good.

ijiw
Kittichai Sooksai ijiw — Carla's Review: The Darkest Seduction is the ninth installment in the LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD series and the most anticipated books in the series. I know I have been dying for Paris' story and could not wait to read it. The LOTU has been on my top favorite series list since The Darkest Night was released and every book just keeps getting better. As with my other reviews, I'm only going to give a rundown of events so I don't spoil the story for readers who have not gotten a chance to devour this book yet. And you will devour it. I finished it in two sittings and that's only because I had to go to work. Stupid job!! The Darkest Seduction is the story of Paris, possessed by the Demon of Promiscuity. If you've already read the LOTU series, you know Paris is one of the most tortured warriors of them all. Because of his Demon, Paris can never have sex with the same person more than once. He must at least have sex once a day which forces Paris to have sex with a different partner daily, therefore he can never have a relationship. He hates his demon because he's been forced to do things he hated and hurt people he's cared about. Now more than ever he hates his demon because all of the other Lords have found love and are happy with their mates and Paris can never have that. That is...until he met Sienna Blackstone. Sienna Blackstone was a hunter that we met back in Aeron's story THE DARKEST PASSION. Sienna was brainwashed into believing that the Lords are evil and responsible for every horrible thing that happens in the world. When you read this book, you will understand why she believed this. She tricked Paris when he was at his weakest, drugged him and watched while other Hunters tortured him. Then she had sex with him because the Hunter she was working for told her to do so. Sienna was already deeply attracted to Paris, so deep down she wanted to be with him. After having sex with Paris he regained his strength and realized soon after, that he wanted Sienna again and this was the first woman that ever happened with. While Paris was escaping the Hunters, Sienna was shot and killed and she blamed Paris for her death. Right before she died she told Paris she hated him and this destroyed him. He has become obsessed with her since. Later he finds out that Cronus took Sienna's soul and bound the demon of Wrath to her. Now Paris is on a mission. He's storming the Heavens and will do whatever necessary to save Sienna from Cronus. He lies, cheats, kills and has sex with whomever he must in order to get Sienna and while doing so, Paris creates a darkness within himself that can never be undone. Kane is still stuck in Hell. He's been horribly tortured and hoping to die. This book will lead up to Kane's book which is believed to be next. I all I have to say is poor Kane!! Galen has become obsessed with Legion after events that happened in The Darkest Surrender. He has conflicting emotions towards her that leaves me to wonder if Galen and Legion will be together in the future. Galen sneaks into the Lords Budapest fortress to find and kidnap Legion but Legion is not there. He then decides to kidnap a VERY pregnant Ashlyn to trade her for Legion. Up until this book I was not crazy about Legion. I hated her in Aeron's book because of the horrible things she did in order to try and get Aeron to be with her instead of Olivia. She was extremely selfish and self centered but I have really grown to like her in this book. She has become very grateful to the Lords for rescuing her from Hell and helping her deal with the horrible things she endured while there. She definitely redeemed herself in my eyes in this book and I am really hoping Legion gets a HEA of her own. Ashlyn finally has her babies in this book, with the help of William. YES, William saves the day and helps deliver the babies. Wait until you meet the twins. *BIG GRIN* Speaking of William, we get to learn a little more about him and we get to meet his big bad daddy Hades. Yup! Hades! And he is seriously one scary dude! We also get to meet some new Lords in this book. The main one we get to see the most of is Viola, who is possessed by the Demon of Narcissism. Viola LOVES herself and NEVER stops talking about herself. No one can stand to talk to her for more than a few minutes because all she wants to talk about is….herself LOL. She's super funny though and I can't wait to read more about her. We also meet Cameron who is possessed by the Demon of Obsession, PuKinn (AKA Irish) who is possessed by Indifference and Winter who is possessed by Selfishness. We only get brief time with them but I really hope they will be in more of the future books because I am looking forward to learning more about them. I have to say that The Darkest Seduction is the Epic book of the LOTU series so far. So much happens, prophecies have came to pass and this book just blew me away. I can keep on going and keep gushing about this book but the review has become way to long LOL. I recommend this book and series to anyone that loves paranormal romance. It can be read as a standalone but for the full effect and story line, I would recommend reading the series in order. Plus, you'll want to know everything about every Lord. It is unknown at this time when the next LOTU book will be released but I will be waiting for however long it takes. I give The Darkest Seduction 5 out of 5 stars

hd_media
Ihsan Türkmen hd_media — Fun read, especially if you're going to the beach. But it has some deep thoughts too, and good writing. Not a Danielle Steele, but also not Ayn Rand. Definitely recommend

supercoolakshay
Akshay Sadarangani supercoolakshay — The last book of Agatha Christie's hero, Hercule Poirot. Conclude Poirot's adventures very well. I was burst into tear when he died, he really was one of my favorite character of all time.

pipeliso
Felipe Reyes pipeliso — this is getting lots of chatter as a twilight/wicked lovely type book--once I'm done with faerie princess PI (A Kiss of Shadows) and historical fiction vampire thriller (Blood and Ice)! I liked the story well enough, but would have liked to know more about the whole immortal thing. They sort of glossed over this with a "yeah, I figured out how to make myself immortal and now I drink red stuff all the time" explanation. I believe I've heard from the ladies at work that #2 is not all that, so I don't know if I'll go on...
