Ternyata ini yg nulis Ahmad Yunus. Gw pikir ditulis berdua dengan Farid Gaban, karena jalannya toh berdua. Asik juga sih tulisannya Ahmad. Tapi Farid Gaban pun penulis yang tak kalah piawai. Lagi kepikir.. apa ada catatan perjalanan yang versi dia ya.. mungkin memberi sudut pandang yang berbeda. Di beberapa bagian, uraian yang sifatnya statistik buat gua mengganggu. Karena akan lebih menarik jika menceritakan totally perjalanan saja. Untuk hal2 yg statistik, pembaca bisa googling sendiri. *** Buku perjalanan selalu memikat gw. Terlebih perjalanan yang memiliki sisi kemanusiaan, bukan sekedar pariwisata. Salut buat Farid Gaban yang sudah 'berumur' -:D- namun tetap memiliki jiwa petualangan. Melepas sejenak segala kenikmatan, bergumul dengan pencarian. Rasanya bakal jadi book of the year gw thn ini. -andri-

The characters all become too annoying by the midpoint that it cancelled out any humorous scenarios. Very unusual, original book but not witty or clever enough for my taste. Very outlandish.

A clear-eyed and insightful view into the entire Iraq . . . well, fiasco. From how we got into the war to how we might be able to get out, and not leave things worse off in the long run. Ricks argues that the military fought the war it expect, not the true war on the ground, and they were very slow to learn and adjust. However, I thought that the military has actually proven to be agile, given the extreme institutional inertia they are working with. With the afterword, the book only covers through April 2007, and the fact that he is able to identify institutional improvements to strategy and tactics in just the first four years of the war is, I think, a reassuring sign. Would things have been better if we had gone in with troops and officers trained in counter-insurgency? Certainly. Compared to Vietnam, however, I feel the military was much faster to recognize the situation it was in and make the necessary adjustments.

A picture book about Mark Twain's life, with plenty to say to older readers too. The younger ones will need it read aloud on account of Huck's English, there are some real tongue-twisters here. Told completely in character by Huck Finn himself, it will spark interest in Huck's own story and perhaps lead readers to look on the art of writing in a new light.

This was the type of book that I enjoyed because of how much it made me think about things outside of the book. The story wasn't amazing, but from an analysis of what might happen in this situation, I think it was pretty good. I think it lacked some amount of realism and condensed a lot of the community for the sake of story-telling. Overall, I think this is a book everyone should read once, but one of the few books I probably wouldn't re-read.

To be fair I did NOT read this whole book. I don't think I could it seemed very dry to me. I did read one section I think it was chapter 6. It was good, it explained alot of religious terms.
