I'm currently reading this book. I find John Hodgman highly amusing, especially when he mythologizes hobos.

This is one of my favorite books. Edith Wharton is an amazing writer and her works do not seem dated. The characters choices were frustrating to me, but that's just how some things go.

In my opinion, Patricia Briggs nailed it with this Novel. You have werewolves that aren't there for sex. A main character that isn't destined for greatness. Just enough magic to make it worth your time. Also a story that made me want to read all night long.

I really reallly liked this book. At the beginning I was annoyed with Lucius for his imperious attitude and bothered with Jess for her selfishness, in the middle I was furious with Lucius for the whole Faith thing, and at the end I just wanted to smack him for being a complete poop face but then it all turned out great so I'm good. I did really like how both characters grew personally, Jess became stronger and Lucius came down a few notches on the I'm fabulous scale. I really could have used a few more chapters because the ending felt a little rushed and in my opinion a little more info would have been great concerning the war, the pact, their new life together, all the biting and sucking blood, how Jess's parents felt when they found out...just to name a few.

The beginning of the book started out slow, dull, and a little redundant, but toasted the end it was suspenseful and sweet

It's a very interesting book full of twists and surprises. I would say it's a perfect beach book although you might finish it when you get home because it's so addictive! However at the end I was expecting more, I wanted to know what else would go on. FORTUNATELY this is the first of a trilogy so soon enough i'll be waiting in line for that second book.

This autobiography follows the life of a man who has made some unfortunate mistakes and finds himself transported to a cell, where he transforms into the O.G. (his nickname in prison, short for Original Gangsta). This is a really good read written by a man who probably never would have realized he had the talent, as he didn't start writing until he was incarcerated, as a way to keep himself sane. My friend Kevin recommended it to me after reading it for a graduate school class, but I would recommend it to anyone as leisure reading.

We are once again back in The Hallows where retired from the police force, Jones Cooper is front and center in this mystery. It begins with Jones in therapy and we discover he now does little things for his neighbors to keep busy. He receives a visit from Eloise Montgomery with a vision she had and saying he would be in more demand and she saw him drowning. Another aspect of the story involves Willow Graves who was moved to The Hollow by her mother after her divorce (an author) to get her out of the City and to bring her up and get away from bad influences and help her to no longer lie. Michel Holt is another main character who has hired Eloise to try to find out what really happened to his mother all those years ago. I found this story to be a bit distracting and confusing, but seeing that there are more books in the series and since I enjoyed the first book so much, I'm looking forward to see where the next books in the series go. I went back and forth on who was the killer, but should have stuck to my first instinct on this one. 3.5 stars

This is my favorite L.M. Montgomery book. It makes me laugh every time I read it (which is nearly every year). I began reading L.M. Montgomery with the Anne series while in high school. Over Anne's escapades I bonded with my dearest friend our sophomore year, ultimately planning a pilgrimage to PEI. This book is the most appealing to an older reader. While Anne, Emily and various other characters grow up, they are anchored by their original precocious beginning. Valancy's age and dilemma held greater appeal for me as I grew up. I love the defiance with which Valancy takes over her life. I love the wit and sarcasm she lets loose on her relatives. I loved the book for years before I found a copy with an introduction explaining how this book was an outlet for Lucy Maude's own frustrations and beliefs. This knowledge filled the story with greater tones of desperation and joy. This was one woman's, one author's, escape into a better place.
